My boyfriend came back from leave(in the army) yester afternoon, he met me in town at around 12ish and said he had just won a 3day,2 night cruise to spain..
I asked him how he had won this and he said that he paid £30 for buy-1-get-1-free tickets for the walkabout and a couple of other bars in town, he then said the women gave him a scrachcard and said that when he had scracthed it off it said he had won this cruise, he gave the women his details (home address, telephone number etc.) and they said that the would be sending the tickets out to him...

to me i think this is a farce, he doesnt think so....

what do you lot think??

i have to agree, my fiancee fell for the same trick in nottingham before, we never used any of the vouchers and the cruise never came through....

has he still got any piece of paper with the company name on it? for example the ticket or a receipt.

i would suggest contacting the company concerned if he has.

if not i would forget about it - if something does come through the post then it will be a bonus

Check the small print. Yes he will have won but probably a ticket for 1 person. Transfers and insurance will need to be paid for ect. I always find it highly amusing when the scratch cards things in magazines always state that you have won an AMAZING prize. Look a the bottom and in between the 1 x £50,000 and the 5 x digital cameras there will be 1000+ holidays to spain ect. the catch being that the add ons you have to buy to take the holiday actually pay for it.

Wait for the phone calls to arrive from timeshare companies :shakes: and when/ if you do get to go on one of these "free holidays" you will be subjected to a sales pitch for hours on end.

Should you need any advice about any of these companies PM me when you get a phone call and I will see if they are reputable or not. ;)

If it is timeshare, then there is a site called something like 'crimeshare' where yo can check if it has a bad rep. Some timeshare 'tester' holidays can actually be a super duper way to get a cheap holiday! You've just got to be able to say the right things to the salesman. (ie. I havent got a penny to scratch my arse with buddy-this normally results in the presentation ending afer no more than half an hour)

When the salesman asks you if you require finance, you say yes, and then he will ask you if you have any CCJ's against you. Just answer 'yes' ... game over

I think you do get the cruise for free but have to pay tax and costs of entering the country etc.

It's basically tickets for a cruise that hasn't been filled. You pay the extras and then spend money on the cruise they otherwise wouldnt get because nobody has paid to go on it.
