Does anyone use one of those virtual fax services where the faxes can be received and sent via e-mail?

There are hundereds of services out there but I'd prefer a recomendation rather than just picking one at random.

I anyone uses a service like this or can recommend one I'd be grateful.

Thanks

When eFax first started I signed up for one of their freebie accounts, which I have been using now for 4 years. It's an 0870 number (national rate) so they lose no money on it, and I get a portable fax number. Brilliant.

Not sure if they still do freebies, but the software is excellent and all faxes arrive in your inbox within minutes.

www.yac.com is amazing. click on 'yac number' at the bottom. its fax to email, not email to fax tho. not sure you'll find a free, reliable email to fax service (altho, granted, you've not asked for a free service...)

If you would like one with a UK geographic number then please take a look at the aql.com website.

You will find Sheffield numbers there (plus 9 Million others across the UK).

I used to use eFax as recommend above by Phan. Don't think they do a free account anymore - I used to pay around £7/month for it. It's a good service and I never had any problems with it.

That's quite a lot for a virtual fax service. :o

aql charge £2 per month plus VAT for the geographic number, so that is the "fax to e-mail" side, and then its two SMS credits per page for the "e-mail to fax" (i.e. outgoing) service.

Anyway, best have a look at the aql website for yourself. just type aql.com and press enter, that will get you there.

eFax have a decent client though as well which I used to find rather useful - also I didn't get charged to send faxes as it was included in the subscription (there was probably an upper limit but I never reached it). £7 was a reasonable enough price for me at the time but can't say I really shopped around. I've not looked at aql.

They seem to have teamed with efax.

I used to use voiptalk, fiver a month.

I nevver had any problems with them, just gave it up as everyone switched to emailing rather than faxing stuff through.
