I would guess that it's Sam - as the story says they met after a photo-shoot (she's doing some modelling now for the lads mags) and she was already having difficulties after appearing on the show. Remember how much she was bullied by the other contestants?

Just a stab in the dark....

Could easily have been lesley given that she lives near Leeds.
I'm pretty sure all the contestants have done photo shoots all over for one thing or another.

I don't think it should have come to light that the woman in question is a former Big Brother contestant in the first place.

As the law stands women are granted anonymity in cases like these, but this story creates the kind of speculation which inevitably results in the identity being leaked.

Yeah I agree but once you become a household name it does become a media circus out there...This happened a month ago and has just come to light!!

Lets face it - even if a general member of the public is raped dispite anonymity the local gossips still get hold of the info and the identity is revealed and passed on...eventually to the media if you are a known name!

Hopefully people will offer support though.

this is headlined on the front of the sun newspaper today.It doesn't say who it is or which series of bb ,just that she is 20 something.i haven't heard it anywhere else yet .

heard about it, said she can't be named for legal reasons...

I didn't realise someone who starred in big brother was on here, learn something new everyday.

Not really, she is perfectly entitled to wave her anonymity, there is nothing in what she has said that would be prejudicial to any case, so there is nothing wrong with what she has done. Victims of other crimes are allowed to say what ahppened to them (prior to anyne being charged anyway, - and from the reports, no one has been charged yet)

Completely. It does nothing to help the situation of women who have been sexually assaulted – and let's face it, the number of men convicted of rape is shockingly low – when an attention-seeking brat makes claims that are designed to put her back in the public eye.

Personally i think we should all keep off Lesleys back until the case is closed. I wasn't impressed by Lesley on BB as she came across as a bully, bitch and vain

However lets not forget we are talking about a possible rape here. If it gets no further and the guy is cleared and it transpires that Lesley did it for publicity then she'll deserve all the hammer she will get.

IMO she should have kept this serious incident out of the media.

The police must be fuming as the media will now buy the guys story and it will be hashed out in the tabloids and the CPS might not think the case fit for court.

Incorrect, Lesley didn't receive any money for the Interview. Granted, money may come from elsewhere but the Sun did not pay her a penny.

I really hope it is true she is not receiving any payment because the thought of doing that after being raped really does sicken me. But that is my opinion.

I still disagree with going to the press with stories like this prior to trial. This is for all women not just the person in The Sun today.

As I said before if people go to the press then the media go for the accused for their version of the story then it gets trial by tabloid. And the work and time by the police is pointless if the CPS throw it out because it can not be a fair trial. And potentially a rapist goes free. Great.

Yesterday, it was leaked (probably against her wishes) she couldn't be named at that point so she obviously didn't sell her story, this DID happen a month ago, 28/09/05!!

Today, rather than face months of speculation and rumour she has waived her rights to anonymity and named herself as the victim.

On the initial thread which I started yesterday (Mods have removed for some reason) Anouska and Sam were mentioned so it would have affected other BB female contestants too, all of them would've been considered the possible victim.

When it does go to court why will the defence rip it apart?? She hasn't revealed full details of what happened leading up, throughout or after the alleged attack or the person she has accused of being responsible???

Could they not have got a court injunction against the press so they are not able to name who is involved until after the court case?

It is possible it was 'leaked' yesterday once the paper knew they had an agreement for an interview. And I really hope my doubt is wrong cos' rape is horrendous and I would not wish it on anyone. And would not ever want anyone to be accused of rape if innocent - mud sticks.

So why didn't she just say, yes it was me and leave it at that ? No need to have the story splashed about in the papers. The story should be told in the right place - court.

It happened a month ago ?? Well she was hardly going to run to the papers the very next day and tell the story was she ? Doesn't look very credible then does it ?

If you were the barrister for the defence would you not use the fact she told her story to the papers in your case ?? i.e 'This fame-hungry woman, kicked early out of big brother, desperate to make it big, grabbed onto this opportunity to bring her name into the limelight once more.....etc' ??
Puts doubt in the jury's mind about the crediability of the victim then.

But if she had just come out and said "i am the rape victim' she would have been hounded for the story anyway.
And yesterday I thought the siloute looked like Anuska so its true that once the story of alleged rape of a female BB contestant broke, every woman who has ever appeared on the show would be viewed as a possible victim.

As for the defence case (if this does get to court) I am sure the fact that shes out going, big breatsed and wears mini skirts will also come up. I didn't think much to Lesley on BB but rape is an horrific crime and I thinkwe should not judge so quickly. The fact remains that she could be the worlds tartiest cow but that still wouldn't make rape accaptable.

Hmm... Wise to reserve judgement on this current happening I think.

I've always admired her modesty and decorum, you've only to look at the pic in the SUN link to see what I mean.

This is the same Lesley that was quoted as saying "Any man who doesn't fancy me must be gay.", isn't it? Personally, I would add.. "or just discerning!"

Well if she has been raped I offer my deepest sympathies, but if she hasnt I hope she gets all thats coming to her.

I can not imagine how any woman could claim to be raped without it being true.

Sexual abuse of any sort is the worst thing that can ever happen to a woman and for people to be so dismissive of her claim and so cruel sickens me.


Yes, maybe telling her story to the Sun was a mistake but who hasnt made mistakes.

Have some heart and respect people.
