"How many people walking through Meersbrook Park would even notice the small community pavilion which has sat just inside the park, half way along Meerbrook Park Road, for the last 70 years? "

From the Council website (http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/out--about/parks-woodlands--countryside/getting-involved/latest-news)

Does anyone have further information or memories of this building?

Not long ago memories (4 years, I guess) but, many people use it locally for playgroups, kids parties etc, I personally remember a 1st birthday party, with lots of lovely indian food, seemed a nice place, run village hall style, but in a city.

If only they could open a nice cafe on the side, as in other sheffield parks, then that would make it worthy of the whole community, (just an opinion).

In the early 1950's Meersbrook Community Pavilion was a day nursery.

My brother and I attended St Wilfrids RC School which was, for several years, temporarily housed in Meersbrook Vestry Hall. The lower part of Meersbrook Park was the school playground.
