I want to add a couple of pics onto a post on SF. How do I do it?

They were sent to me as an email. All I need now is to take them from there and put them on here! Please help!

ps. they are of my new niece and her sister to show some people I've been chatting to. That's ok isn't it?

There are so many threads about this....

Open a free Photobucket account, and upload your pics there, and then put the link on SF.

Hiya Rook :)

You are not allowed to have pictures showing in a thread on here. The cost of the extra bandwidth would be astronomical compared to what it is now :?

All you can do is what Ann_x suggested

Not strictly true, as using thr [IMG] tags linking to a picture off-line does not consume any extra bandwidth for this site ;) It is just that this is a text based site.

Can't agree with you there Skatiechik. IMO any image is going to increase bandwidth to the forum. If it didn't i think Geoff would have allowed it ages ago.
For the same reason we are toying with the idea of turning the [img] tags off on CbtTechs.

How when the image is linked elsewhere, so everytime it is previewed on this site it will be using the bandwidth from the server where it is linked from?

I think you will find the reason why Geoff doesn't allow [IMG] tags is there is no control over the size of images people could link to, this a) causes a headache for the months b) causes a headache in loading times for this site, especially for those on a slow connection as having to load 1MB that is linked from photobucket before the page lads when your on a 56k connection is not fun.
