Part of the Professional Season, Reform Theatre presents Thick as Thieves, a vibrant new comedy by Mark Whiteley that takes the audience into the comically dark underbelly of the world of small-time criminals.

Friends Steph and Barry have never been model citizens but they are finding it increasingly hard to stay on the straight and narrow. When the pair decide to turn their hands to housebreaking it has hilarious consequences. In the middle of a bit of house robbing, they stumble upon two dead bodies. One is a budgie, the other an old man. Well, what would you do with a dead body?

‘Crimes Against Taste’ present an Evening of Comic Song Friday December 3rd and Saturday December 4th 2010. How do two trained opera singers and a reformed church organist end up on the stage of the Lantern Theatre? Come and hear them tell their tragic tales through the medium of comic songs and dance (Dance? - only joking!). From childhood trauma, through undergraduate experimentation to proper, but utterly unsuitable careers, Jon Openshaw, Peter Taylor and Robert Webb will tell you how the trials of life have left them damaged, lonely and desperate. If you are of a nervous disposition, or are likely to be offended by the odd uncouth phrase, then this evening might not be for you…

CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE

It is the week before Christmas and secretly, their chairman Arnold Hassock, considers that The Pendon Writers Circle is in a bit of a rut. Until, following a provocative talk from a guest speaker, Arnold is persuaded to throw down a challenge to his members and things get completely out of hand. What with poetic policemen, hapless girls in mortal danger and, to cap it all, his own mother abducted by aliens, Arnold rather wishes he'd kept his mouth shut.

Sharp comedy and affectionate satire characterize this zany, imaginative play.
