I'm looking round a house for renting for the first time tomorrow. Does anyone have any tips on what to look for and what questions to ask?

Whats included in the rent

Do u share anything with the neighbours ie Garden

Do u need contents insurrance

Whats the area like at night( don't want riots outside do we now).

Is it close to amenities like the pub ( and shops )

Whats the transport links like cos u never know when the motor is going to break down.

Also, find out the landlord/lady's views on them coming round to your house once you live there.

They should give you 24 hours notice, but a lot don't seem to realise that it's your space. I had a landlord who let himself in, once when I was in bed and once when I was out, and he went through my stuff! It's not nice to feel your privacy has been invaded like that, so this is really important!

Don't worry though, most landlords aren't like that, so happy house-hunting!!:thumbsup:
