Chester, York and Lincoln are all nice for a day out. Nottingham is good as well if you like a bit of history.

There's the lake district.
Or North Yorkshire for all the castles and abbeys.

Whitby :)

And if you want to stay and can drive, there's a wonderful little village about 10 miles away called Staithes. It's so quiet and lovely with the smell of real fires. Not a great deal to do in the village but it's great for a chill out.

Blenheim Palace. Never been, but I hear it's a beautiful place and there's tonnes of history to boot. I'm planning on going down there pretty soon.

Bournemouth - I lived there for 14 yrs and loved every year... (moved because of circumstances)

Plenty of lovely places to visit... clubs / pubs / walks / beaches / holiday parks / The New Forest... see wild ponies :)

Well worth a visit...
