A Hong Kong man has been convicted of movie internet piracy in what is believed to be the first case involving BitTorrent file-sharing software.

Chan Nai-ming was found guilty of copyright infringement for distributing three Hollywood blockbusters using BitTorrent, said a court official...The Hong Kong customs department said that since the arrest illegal file-sharing had fallen by 80%.

Call me a pessimist, but I think illegal file sharing will climb right back up again soon.

Anyway - one seed down, 9,345,213 to go....

If it's RIAA or MPAA figures, monitoring from a known IP address range of theirs, then whatever... :hihi:

File sharers of the world, we have a duty to be easily visible to the RIAA & MPAA so they can compile such figures accurately! Don't, whatever you do, download & use peerguardian (http://sourceforge.net/projects/peerguardian), that'd just mess up the stats...
