Can anyone here remember when the existing 'shopping precinzt' area of Broomhill was built? The bit that starts with Somerfield next to the Nat West and runs to the traffic lights I mean, with the car park on the roof, right up to where the old original South Seas Pub used to be, which is roughly where the phone boxes are now and the benches by the traffic lights.

Was it in fact just a row of terraced villas before right next to the main road?

Try http://www.picturesheffield.com and do a search for Broomhill. I'm sure there is a number of pictures that show the old shops and the original South Sea pub before it got ruined by students (both pub and district).

If there aren't any piccies on here then I'm struggling because I have definitely seen some somehwhere (probably in one of the pubs in Broomhill?).
