hi iv had my pc for about 9 months now and it has a dvd rw drive in it but no cd/dvd rom drive so i ordered a dvd rom drive to get fitted in above my dvd rw drive so i could copy dvds games etc but i was wondering if its a dvd rom drive you need or a cd rom drive or any incase iv ordered the wrong one?? thanks for any help:D :help: :help: :help: :thumbsup:

Um, you are aware that copying DVDs and games is illegal, even if it's only for backup purposes?

As for your question, you need a DVD writer, a normal DVD-ROM drive will only play DVDs on your PC, not copy them.

I know all about the fact that people on here hate PC World, I don't wish to get drawn into a heated Mod note filled debate on that subject again, but I've never had any problems with them so yeh.

as you already have a dvd writer you now need a dvd rom which can read both cd's and dvd's so you have ordered the right item

Bear in mind that you can't usually do a disc to disc copy of a DVD, so you could have put your original disc in the DVD-RW and then put in the blank when prompted.
