View Full Version : Good new restaurant on Abbydale Road
Check out the threads early last week for a restaurant to try out. In the end we tried Seasons. It's a new place on Abbydale Rd (use to JR Dallas i think).
Well there still finding there feet but the food was fantastic. Service was good and at £45 for 2 with wine you can't complain. It was a good menu (they bill it as Traditional English but it's a bit fancier than that). The creme brulee was to die for.
It only seats 30ish so it's a nice cosy feel. If your looking for somewhere you can sit and have a chat over good food it's great.
Hope they do well so give them a try.
Please do not be offended but do you work there or are you just trying to promote their restaurant??
Nope never worked in catering. I just think when a restaurant actually gets it right they should be rewarded for it. How many time have you seen good places in SHeffield go under, not because they where bad but because no one knew they where there. I had a really nice chat with the woman that appears to run it and i thought "why not let others know the food is good" I've been to enough bad places and the feedback on this forum helps prevent that. It's entirely up to you give a try or not. Sheffield has an abundance of ethnic restaurants but very few less exotic food well. The onces i know that do "rafters" "thyme" are over priced in my opinion. The Ritz this place ain't. Plesant and friendly it is. Don't know about you but i'm in more of a position for a reasonable night out than a blow out at Rafters every week.
Any feedback from anyone else thats been?
pete_jim 27-10-2005, 11:26 AM It was awarded 5 out of 5 in last night's Star for food so must give it a try. Particularly appealing as can walk home afterwards hic.
voodoodanny 27-10-2005, 05:15 PM Hi, I'd just like to say that I work at Seasons from time to time and am the son of the owner. It would be rude and shameless of me to try and plug the restaurant but I will say that a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears have gone into getting it ready to open (not into the food thankfully) and that I hope anyone who dines with us has a really wonderful time. Our philosophy is really good quality, 100% home-made British influenced food at affordable prices.
If anyone wants to know more I'd be happy to answer your questions and many thanks to all of you who have said positive things about us so far.
Hope to see/serve you soon.

rob123 07-11-2005, 01:17 PM I'd be interested in seeing a menu.
OMG...
I went here for my birthday last week... and what a gem this place is.
Small enough to be cosy, but large enough so that you don't feel like you're sat on the knee of the diners on the table next to you.
There were 6 of us, my boyfriend and I, my parents and his parents. And between us we sampled much of the menu. Everything was superb... The lamb, the duck, the steak... <drool> I am hungry again...
And the desserts... wow...
The staff were friendly and attentive, and even the owner (I think) came over for a chat at the end.
However, in my rather squiffy birthday state, I do apologise for stating the obvious to the gentleman in the chefs whites, by asking him if he was the chef
All in all... A top place, that I hope to visit again. ALOT.
Just out of interest i've been 3 time now and it was great every time BUT. how often is the menu likely to change, i think between us we've tried most of the menu. It's called season so i hope its seasonal :heyhey: when is the next change due
laughalot 29-11-2005, 10:47 PM Okay, I will have to reply although feel like I'm doing a bit of advertising on here so don't really like. Yes it is called Seasons so it will be seasonal as the name suggests. Throughout December there will be a set menu for xmas fayre - 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts to choose from with the blackboard as well- set price. The menu will then change for Spring in Feb. Chefs do try to keep the blackboards 'busy' for alternatives for our regular visitors. Thanks Cuey - :D :D :D
Great but i can't wait until Feb . And if i don't like the blackboard im gonna have to be have that baileys creme brulle AGAIN. Life is so hard for me these days :shakes: :shakes:
