Been meaing to go somewhere else but keep getting drawn back. It depends on where you go and what you like from a holiday. Quite a lot of Goa is very built up, IMO you might as well go to spain, but that's just me. It has all the facilities and is very safe and reasonably priced. I am guessing you would be staying in a hotel with a pool and all of that, which is the complete opposite of what we do in Goa. Flight times are quite long and you should have a few jabs. If you have seen the Bourne Identity, thats the beach we stay on, and you are pretty much on the beach. It's great! Ask if you have any more specific questions. owdlad 24-10-2005, 15:31 I've got a mate who once went with a Goa :P kall_sheff 24-10-2005, 18:26 Dubai ...best city for a holiday .You could do a stop over in dubai on route to goa if you wish. Classic Rock 24-10-2005, 18:41 I've been to Goa and it was one of the best holidays I've ever had. Really beautiful beaches, guaranteed blue skies, very laid back and relaxing atmosphere. I went with another woman and we felt totally safe, everyone was really friendly. The only drawbacks I'd suggest you'd have if you took the kids would be that there are a lot of hawkers (people trying to sell stuff on the beaches) so they may get hassled - you'd just have to keep an eye on them. The flight is 11 hours - say no more about that one. The food is either really spicy and inedible or you'll live on pizza. Menus are fairly limited - although there's plenty of fresh fruit and everything is cheap. We went to loads of different beaches and I must say there's little in terms of amusements - you'll have to make your own really. Other than that, I'd recommend it to anyone - the opportunity to see cows wandering along beaches and women in saris swimming in the sea is unforgettable. pete_jim 25-10-2005, 07:58 Originally posted by kirky not sure what you mean:confused: I meant that IMO Dubai would be a better destination for a holiday with children and would be a shorter journey than a holiday to Goa. kirky 25-10-2005, 08:15 Originally posted by pete_jim I meant that IMO Dubai would be a better destination for a holiday with children and would be a shorter journey than a holiday to Goa. cheers,i'll look it up on the net, after spending 1800 quid in turkey we thought we might aswell go somewhere decent next year. |
