View Full Version : What is your most desirable dream car and why?
bulldog D 31-01-2004, 00:09 The title says it all, if money was no option and speed cameras didn't exist, what would you drive that would be an assault on all the physical senses. What would you wash & wax, wipe the bugs off and covet beyond all reason.
Skatiechik 31-01-2004, 10:29 Well it would be a difficult decision but it would be one of these, some of them aren't out of my reach so maybe I will own them in a few years time.
MG Maestro Turbo
Lotus Elise
Porsche 911
Mclaren F1
Noble
Austin Healey Sprite
Hillman Imp
Mini ERA Turbo
Plus if money wasn't an option I would own them all :) All the cars would be kept in a climate controlled garage as well.
I'd have one of those cars they had in 'Back to the Future'
I'd have to learn to drive first though :D
BrainThrust 31-01-2004, 12:06 I'd just want a Marcos, any Marcos
Yummy
Wilf
I like Vauxhall Vectras, not sure why though.

Ooooooh thats nice ! Now why couldnt i have won the lottery ?
They had one in the Beaulieu motor musuem when i was a kid - had a trip there with school - got sponsored to clean the cars - I ended up cleaning the Outspan Orange car and operating the wings etc on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - was dead jealous of the kids that got to see the DeLorean from the inside...

Thats filthy! What a truly awful car.
mega_monty 31-01-2004, 23:32 There used to be a Delorean, parked regularly outside AP tyres in Parkgate Rotherham, very nice Brushed Aluminium panels, although would be a complete bitch to keep clean.

Its only £14500 (or £15400 with some optional extras I wouldnt mind ;))
Hey if we are going on the assumption that "if money was no option " like in original post - then we can afford a servant to clean the car daily... or some school kids :P
mojoworking 01-02-2004, 08:18 Without question, the Aston Martin DB7 is the most beautiful (and therefore desirable) car of modern times and will remain so until it is replaced by the DB9 later this year.
In earlier times the Aston Martin DB5 (Bond's car in Goldfinger) and the E-Type Jaguar held the title jointly
segasonic 01-02-2004, 13:18 Mine would have to be a 1994/5 Toyota Celica GT4 in red. I fell in love with it after playing Sega Rally for rather too long.
Shame I can't drive, but by the time I can at least my dream car will be affordable :)
Try this

Not quite, that was a Joe Walsh solo track from 1978 titled Life's Been Good. Joe was in the Eagles on and off, though

The DeLorean DMC-12 may look cool in Back To The Future, but it was a dog of a car and a disaster from start to finish
The unpainted stainless steel panels were impossible to clean and showed every fingerprint.
It had an asthmatic Volvo 2.85 V6 engine instead of the gutsy Lotus-tuned motor it was originally promised.
The rear engine meant the weight distribution was a ridiculous 35:65, making it even more unstable than an early Porsche 911.
The gullwing doors meant that the windows were fixed - not a good safety point
John DeLorean himself lied about how quickly he could put the car on sale, which cost the UK government untold millions in subsidies for the purpose built factory in Northern Ireland
This meant that British taxpayers had to shell out £34,000 for every job the factory created
Finally, in an attempt to keep the project afloat, John DeLorean turned to drug dealing. He was arrested in a Los Angeles hotel attempting to buy 100 kg of cocaine!
