Apparently when the heir to the henderson family recipie has passed away then that is it! finished.

they have allready made a statement that the recipie will not be sold and will die when and whoever knows it dies..

This cannot be allowed to happen. As someone who is married to a Sheffield lass, it took me a while to acquire the taste but it was worthwhile persevering with.

A rumour seems to go round about once a year that Hendersons is closing down, leading to panic buying.... it hasn't been true yet..!

My Hubsta works in a certain department in a certain organisation and knows for DEFINATE whats happening as he's seen 'the plans'.

Sheffield Uni now own the site where Hendersons Relish currently are.
Hendersons are now leasing the land from Sheff. Uni.

They will however be moving from there at somepoint in the near future as they have SOMEWHERE ELSE.

THEY AREN'T CLOSING DOWN!!!!!

Sheff University have probably given a bottle of the fair Sheffield relish to the chemistry department, who will no doubt have analysed it and worked out all the ingredients, and will be producing their own version instead......they own the site after all......

I for one would like Hendies to carry on where they are..It's part of Sheffield to me.

Both Sheffield uni and Hallam uni are buying up way too much land in Sheffield and small business like Hendies should stick around...although I can see see the temptation for the huge amount of cash they were most probably offered.

I've heard Henderson's have been intending to move to better permises for years now. If/when they do it'll probably be to some anonymous metal shed near the Parkway.

It's quite clear their current works don't cut it anymore. The building's left side is sinking into the ground. Plus the corner of Leavygreave and Upper Hanover is very narrow and dangerous as it is meant to be shared cycle path/footway!

It'd hate to see it go but it will go one day.

I think some of the crap talked about Hendos closing, stems from people selling bottles on e-bay and claiming that they are closing. I always get the sale shut down when I see this because it is damaging to the reputation of the Henderson's Relish company.
As sheffielders and Hendos quaffers It is our solemn duty to protect the fine reputation of our city's most famous assets.
