YOU CAN COME IN OFF OF THE LEDGE NOW ! garryh69 22-10-2005, 22:17 Apparently when the heir to the henderson family recipie has passed away then that is it! finished. they have allready made a statement that the recipie will not be sold and will die when and whoever knows it dies.. Rob_Roy 22-10-2005, 22:49 This cannot be allowed to happen. As someone who is married to a Sheffield lass, it took me a while to acquire the taste but it was worthwhile persevering with. hmr44 23-10-2005, 13:45 Oh no, somebody have children with the guy who knows the recipe so he can pass it on!! Andy C 23-10-2005, 16:13 A rumour seems to go round about once a year that Hendersons is closing down, leading to panic buying.... it hasn't been true yet..! kay_cee 23-10-2005, 16:28 O.K. That rumour stops here! My Hubsta works in a certain department in a certain organisation and knows for DEFINATE whats happening as he's seen 'the plans'. Sheffield Uni now own the site where Hendersons Relish currently are. Hendersons are now leasing the land from Sheff. Uni. They will however be moving from there at somepoint in the near future as they have SOMEWHERE ELSE. THEY AREN'T CLOSING DOWN!!!!! burnttoast 23-10-2005, 19:42 Is there anywhere in in that area the bloody university does'nt own:confused: Whenever a company moves premises, somehow the product don't taste the same:( Look at Cunninghams pickles.Their nowt like when they were made at Queens road. Hope this don't happen to Hendos. After all its a Sheffield tradition:help: By Christ we were brought up on the stuff. Used to have a teat on the bottle when I was a babby:heyhey: goldenfleece 23-10-2005, 19:51 Sheff University have probably given a bottle of the fair Sheffield relish to the chemistry department, who will no doubt have analysed it and worked out all the ingredients, and will be producing their own version instead......they own the site after all...... owdlad 23-10-2005, 19:52 Originally posted by poppins OWDLAD, IT'S JUST A RUMOUR........ I for one would like Hendies to carry on where they are..It's part of Sheffield to me. Both Sheffield uni and Hallam uni are buying up way too much land in Sheffield and small business like Hendies should stick around...although I can see see the temptation for the huge amount of cash they were most probably offered. maggi 23-10-2005, 21:21 Originally posted by boyface I for one would like Hendies to carry on where they are..It's part of Sheffield to me. Me too. Can't we get it listed as a World Heritage Site, or an area of Special Scientific Interest? Hels 23-10-2005, 23:04 Well, if anyone's interested - there was stack loads of Henderson's in Morrison's today..... I'm not a born and bred Sheffielder, but i've been converted to Hendo's too  burnttoast 24-10-2005, 11:19 Originally posted by Hels Well, if anyone's interested - there was stack loads of Henderson's in Morrison's today..... Maybe with their new premises they will be able to increase production, and finally take over the world? :) pberry 24-10-2005, 13:27 I've heard Henderson's have been intending to move to better permises for years now. If/when they do it'll probably be to some anonymous metal shed near the Parkway. It's quite clear their current works don't cut it anymore. The building's left side is sinking into the ground. Plus the corner of Leavygreave and Upper Hanover is very narrow and dangerous as it is meant to be shared cycle path/footway! It'd hate to see it go but it will go one day. You'd have to get past me too!, cos I'd be out there, ready to jump, as well. As someone said, you simply cannot eat without it! ("There'll Always Be An England"starts playing in the background, and PT adopts a "Tim Brooke-Taylor-esque" pose) What would "meyt and chatty eye" be without a dash of Hendo's on it? how could "our bert" eat his stew without a generous splash of hendoes on it? (*turns music off) PT waldershelf 27-10-2005, 08:55 Lets start a list, what do you put Hendo's on I'll kick off with:- Stew Casserole (of any type) Fish and chips Fantomas 27-10-2005, 08:57 Originally posted by waldershelf Lets start a list, what do you put Hendo's on I'll kick off with:- Stew Casserole (of any type) Fish and chips Cheese on toast Joanl 27-10-2005, 08:59 Shepherds Pie:thumbsup: burnttoast 27-10-2005, 09:21 Originally posted by Andy Maybe with their new premises they will be able to increase production, and finally take over the world? :) Oh no! I have a spirit optic to despence hendos more easily. http://www.rocknroll.f9.co.uk/faceHair/hendos.gif Also here is some amusing rumours about hendos which I made up Henderson's Relish Conspiracy (http://www.rocknroll.f9.co.uk/faceHair/hendos.htm) I think some of the crap talked about Hendos closing, stems from people selling bottles on e-bay and claiming that they are closing. I always get the sale shut down when I see this because it is damaging to the reputation of the Henderson's Relish company. As sheffielders and Hendos quaffers It is our solemn duty to protect the fine reputation of our city's most famous assets. btbwild 27-10-2005, 11:28 Originally posted by waldershelf Lets start a list, what do you put Hendo's on I'll kick off with:- Stew Casserole (of any type) Fish and chips Corned beef hash yummy :heyhey: |
