View Full Version : Van crashes into the Sheaf View
prescottspie 03-11-2010, 20:00 Bit of shameless gossip spreading..... ;)
Mate of mine was having a pint down the Sheaf View tonight when a van that had been parked up (on the road from what I can gather) for some time somehow lost its handbrake and came careering down the road and crashed into the beer garden by the bins and onto the bike park (and someones bike!).
Pic he sent me at http://www.flickr.com/photos/prescottspies/5144007618/
Madness!
PS Noone was hurt thankfully. Shame about the bike...
belkyboy 03-11-2010, 20:04 niceeeeeeeee
Thanks for the 'shameless gossip', went past last night and saw the road shut off by police cars and the blue and white tape all round the Sheaf as I passed by this morning. I assumed it was violence related, glad it's not, such a good pub!
Not such a good pub? It's a very good pub. They don't sell Carling or Cream Flow.
Locksley 04-11-2010, 09:07 It's an awesome pub! cs65dos - are you thinking of the Sheaf on Bramall Lane?
And what a photo lol
cs65dos, I saw the comma, don't worry if others didn't ;)
NorthernStar 04-11-2010, 09:18 It must have come down that grass bank where people sit on hot days didn't it?
Could have been a real disaster, glad no one was hurt.

Oh the comma, sorry cs65dos.
Locksley 04-11-2010, 09:37 ahhh, my bad lol
Cheers Nikster... See you all in there!!! ;)
And that's why you should always park in gear :hihi:
*Wallace* 04-11-2010, 10:54 I've often wondered when a vehicle would end up going down there, lucky no one was hurt.
alchresearch 04-11-2010, 11:15 And that's why you should always park in gear :hihi:
With wheels pointing into the kerb.
CorkerSWFC 04-11-2010, 12:22 Saw it earlier, its not made that much of a mess really just knocked the wooden fence down thats it.
Vantastic 04-11-2010, 12:50 Lucky it's a small van.... Mine would of taken out the pub :)
bethwebb 04-11-2010, 14:02 My gosh!
Lovely boozer, but glad we weren't sat on the grass with the dog, not sure my reflexes would be up to much after a few pints of Kuppers Kolsh!
peakview 04-11-2010, 14:16 I saw four police cars and a riot van at this.
But when the owner asked for the number for recovery firm that could winch his van out there were blank looks all round.
He got sorted in the end obviously.
Miraculous how little damage there is to the covered area.
Carry on drinking!

I wouldn't call the van exactly small.
Went in about 16 years ago, not my favourite pub, don't like Whitbread rubbish

Hey........ The police have to have a drink at some time :hihi:

I guess it's personal taste. I prefer the Woodseats Palace myself as the drinks are better priced, people don't sit around a pint all night and stare at you as if you've come from Mars, and the bar staff aren't as rude.

Sheaf View - fantastic pub, lovely beer and atmosphere and great bar staff - my opinion.:)

lol, thats a very dated and ill informed post, the Sheaf View is one of the best pubs in Sheffield. REAL ALE AT LEAST 8 BITTERS ON EACH DAY !! Whitbread !!it was a Marstons pub long after that and now a free house.

You didn't read the last post before yours properly. there was a comma before such:roll: ie glad its not, such a good pub - which means he thinks its a great pub.

I know, it had already been pointed out and I have already apologised.
splodgeyAl 08-11-2010, 12:29 Try it again you won't recognise it.
Can people please stop trying to ruin a good pub!
I had three pints of Dizzy Gillespie Bitter in there Saturday, brewed by Crown Brewery scrummy.
Yog Sothoth 09-11-2010, 15:56 Phew! Glad I wasn't sitting at the bottom of the bank wearing headphones with my back to the road, holding a gallon of nitroglycerine.
