alchresearch 23-10-2005, 11:10 My MP3 Player (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=7909&GroupID=0)
Pros:
Very cheap (only cost £17 when I bought it)
Easily upgradable with memory cards
Runs for ages on one AAA battery
Cons:
No track names
Ipod - 20Gb colour.
Pros
I like the interface, and how it spits the tracks into album, artist etc.
Like the ability to make your own playlists.
Lasts ages once the battery is recharged.
Playback quality is very good.
Loads of storage.
Can put pictures on it (though haven't)
I can set graphic equaliser settings for each album or even each track.
Cons.
Itunes - I don't like it.
No remote, it's a bit of a pain to have to keep getting it out of your pocket to skip foreward a track, but there is a remote control I believe.
The scroll wheel thing is very sensitive, if you lean on it it will turn the volume up or down or whatever.
Headphones that come with it are crap.
Wish I'd got the new one with a bigger screen.

bought it from Argos whilst stood in a queue.
Runs for ages on one battery and is upgradable via mem cards - drag and drop - functional.
For what I paid, it was a bargain.
Rio Karma 20Gb:
pros:
Plays MP3, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, FLAC
great sound quality
docking station is great with RCA audio out
EQ on it is fantastic
nice chunky design, not some wafer thin breakable thing
docking station flashes to music and glows (kinda funny when your drunk and in dark)
useability on menu's is great
long battery life
cons:
wish it had bigger HD
iPod Nano 4Gb
Pros:
* Size - you don't truely appreciate how small till you hold it
* Interface - standard iPod, just works well
* Sound Quality - very good now, better than earlier iPods
* Don't have to use iTunes, there's free plugins for Winamp and foobar2000
Cons:
* Space, 4Gb is quite small
* Uses dock-connector meaning I can't just plug into the USB port like a shuffle.
* Scuffs. Not had any problems with real scratches as so many have done.
* Sound Quality - made me spend £170 on canal-phones ;)
Think that's it :)
