How do you do people of Sheffield,

I’ve heard you got a lot of snow out there lately.
Just as we are actually – there was a terrible snowstorm, uncommon even for these places on Thursday evening. But terrible is not the word 4 it:
I LOVE THIS KIND OD WEATHER! Storms, lightning, heavy fog, severe rain or intensive snowfall.

Especially when feeling warm, drinking hot drink or on the contrary – walking long distances with proper overcoat! That’s what I did!

Sheer excitement! But what is this? I can’t detect the mechanism. Maybe something from the prehistoric ages?

I should imagine our 'snowstorm' wasnt quite as good as the one in Sergiev Posad.

The snow fell for about 15 minutes, leaving a thin coating which froze over quite quickly, and the entire country came to a standstill. Pathetic really! We cant cope with any extreme weather.

Yes standstill must be not that pleasant really. But maybe this is all because of the “summer”-type tires as for the cars? I don’t know whether it is common in the UK but most Russian drivers change it twice a year. Or just don't drive at all during winter months :)

No, we have the same tyres all year. Most people dont even know what snow chains are!

It's not snow chains. It's only hovercraft.

I didn't understand what you were saying about hovercrafts!

I love the snow (when i'm off work) and living up a hillside makes for great sledging, but haven't had a decent amount of snow in years to do it:(

I'm going to visit Russia one day and when I do I want lots of snow:D :thumbsup:

If not than sorry. I really meant not this but winter tyres, these ones with little rubber sticks around. Not snow chains really.

It's not something we have to worry about very often in England.
We have very boring weather. We never have deep snow anymore. When I was young we had lots of deep snow, but we no longer have it.

I would enjoy lots of deep snow in the winter, i'm sure Russia gets plenty! I'd go sledging all the time if I could :)

I agree with Vovakr on this one - I love snow, storms, etc.! I have to admint though, I do find it amusing the way the entire country panics, and pretty much grinds to a halt at the slightest hint of a single snow flake.

Most of the main roads in Sheffield were jammed on wednesday - nothing seemed to be moving...appart from me, who was walking in the middle of the roads, where there was little or no ice/snow left (as opposed to walking on the slippery pavements!).

It's just a shame we didn't have more snow.

me colleagues are measuring their blood pressure today, after all that tricks of nature. There seem to be a connection between all that atmospheric things and one’s general state. Thankfully I’m not very old enough to knew it personally :)
