why to they break up and go back in the middle of the week? one of mine broke up wednesday and the other one thursday,and usually they return on tuesdays.........whats that all about then:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

Thats weird. In the borough newhwam most of the schools are getting two weeks off. but thats because Newham is a big indian/asian area and divarli and edi and ramadam fall around the same time.

We break up today, we go back a week on monday.

Don't forget that the teachers have to go to "training days" aka let's have a jolly up while the kids are away days.....The poor things need a rest away from those nasty kiddies. :rolleyes:

Training days are far from a "jolly up" trust me. They are usually 6 hour meetings about whatever the latest "hot topic" for improvement is and invariably results in us having to draw a fish to test our "learning style" etc....

We have to be in earlier and leave later... NOT FUN!!!

Hey im not complaining !an extra 2-3 days of school!! it dont bother me, but uselly when theres a big event comeing up ie xmas or summer!
we finished today cus im in Y11 but we useually go back ona monday! execpt at beggining of year which was ona thursday! highly annoying when i could have had another 2 days of sleep
and its cus of teacher training day! i think when we have TTD, nature is on our side and its our way of getting our own back on the teachers!! haha they ahve to go to work and we dont! lol

Not sure if it's still the case, but in my day we had a week off for half term, and then for some unknown reason they'd have a "Baker day" on the Monday so we didn't go back till Tuesday, WTF?! Not that I minded the extra day off cos I hated school anyway for reasons I find traumatising to discuss even now, 13 years since I left...
