View Full Version : Serious Incident in Dronfield?
bigflesh 20-10-2005, 22:24 Thursday, 23:00, Dronfield - Pentland Road near Carr Lane Junction. I have seen 6 police cars parked up lights flashing. Plus 3 ambulances. One More ambulance seen enroute to scene as I headed away from the area. 6 policemen on their knees in a line - looked like a fingertip search. Additionally, approx 15 mins later, an ambulance with a police escort (sirens on both vehicles blazing!) headed onto the A61 southbound towards Calow Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Looked pretty major.
Any ideas anyone?
bigflesh 20-10-2005, 22:28 Helicopter now over head (low flying - ooh eerr!). Seems to be hovering and waking my neighbours dog up!
Don't know but keep us posted if you find out. It's just round the corner so may go and have a nose now!!
Any ideas? :(
Hope its nothing TOO bad although 6 coppers doesn't sound gud :0/
bigflesh 20-10-2005, 22:35 Hmmmm. 2 car police escort for an ambulance with sirens blazing at 11pm..... roads are very quiet, so I am guessing the dronfield nick was rather over excited by an incident in the sleepy hollow of Dronfield, or the seriousness of injurys to persons was servere enough to warrent all sirens on all 3 vehicles. Never realised an ambulance engine had such a roar.... he must have been hitting 50mph in 1st gear as he came through a 90 degree junction - on Bowshaw opposite the Coach & Horses!
He nearly had me syrup off!
Fingertip search afterwards might mean it was an accident from a police chase gone wrong and evidence thrown from the vehicle, drugs, stolen goods, firearms...Casualties taken to hospital under police escort...
bigflesh 20-10-2005, 22:45 Shiesh.... lets hope everone involved is OK. Crumbs the sleepy hollow of Dronfield is under attack! Bring out the towns-men!

OMG Shiesh!!!!!!!!! I have just realised - I heard sirens from my house about 45 minutes before I saw this incident. Maybe this was the cop chase you alluded too. If indeed there was one!
bigflesh 20-10-2005, 22:59 NEWS FLASH - a man has been driving around Dronfield in a GTA type fashion. It would appear that he has been trying to kill himself! Possibility of driving into petrol station pumps (Total?) and over the Dronfield ByPass Viaduct.....
I kid you not...
Note... this maybe loose talk at the moment as details are sketchy. Havoc has been unleashed, although I hope he is OK.
6 police cars?? i only saw 1 in bout 15 years of living there!
Where did that story come from....
Grand Theft Auto....someone's 'avin a laugh....in Dronfield...:hihi:

Shiesh, mate works in local pub. The turn came on and said, ladies and gents sorry if I am a bit depressed tonight, I just saw a man trying to kill himself (no punchline and he was a singer, not singer comedian). Apparently this prompted text messages akimbo from all clientele who reported various stories of multiple events regarding 1 individual (who has possibly been carted off to the hossy with police in tow).
Again... potential idle chatter amoungst the proletariat (the working masses), but interesting all the same.
hotdogbird 21-10-2005, 01:38 HI Bigflesh,
just to change the subject completely....who was the turn?
worrit jack and the fox?
Hope all is sorted in Dronfield now. I bet the curtain twitchers have had a field day. You'll hear it all down the civic tomorrow morning!:o
So what was it then....a police exercise held in sleepy Dronfield for the purpose of minimum disruption to the city dwellers or a serious accident/crime:confused:
