Anyone else having problems updating AVG (free or paid versions)?

Can't access updates from within the control centre. So I thought I'd dl the binary and perform a local update.

Only problem is, the grisoft website isn't responding to http requests, and was wondering if anyone else was having problems, or is it just me?

Nah, doesnt seem to be working for me either.

(does that answer your question by the way, or would you be better of contacting a PC repair company?)

Yeah i had that problem earlyer, just kept on trying and it connected, downloaded about 20-30% and then server timed out again. Must be really busy for some reason :suspect:

Yeah, same problem here. :|

Probably just a temporary issue at their end if other people have the same problem.

Phew.

Glad (or not) it's not just me.

I managed to get the 20-30% mark too (about an hour ago).

Will try again later.

Thanks for the (speeeeeeedy) reply people:thumbsup:.

When I try to update, it tells me there's a critical update, but then I get a message telling me it can't contact AVG....tried clicking on the faq website link, and that isn't working either.

a new version (7.1) is out today, it could be just a bit sluggish because of that. both my machines have managed to update this evening. i'm seeing the website too, although it is obviously struggling...

I've just checked the AVG Free download page, and it's still showing the "avg70free_344a618.exe" version....there's nothing about version 7.1?

I'm still having problems, and it's really bugging me that I keep getting that balloon pop-up saying that my AVG is out-of-date. I tried updating from the website, and that didn't work either...just kept getting "Page Cannot Be Displayed"!

I've had the same problem, but my only solution was to update manually even tho' it doesn't recommend manual updating on the site.

I managed to finally update late this morning....but I did notice that the update number had changed from 151 to 152, so perhaps it was last night's update that was causing all the problems after all:hihi:
