View Full Version : Bonfire night for young families S6?
drp215 19-10-2005, 09:10 PM Anyone know of any?
We went to After Dark (minus tots) last year, good venue and entertainment but we prefer something on a smaller scale. We've got two little 'uns. Anyone know of anything local?
FairyNormal 20-10-2005, 01:32 AM I think there may be something happening at Burton Street. I'm sure I saw a poster there saying something of the sort (firework party maybe?).
May be worth giving them a ring to ask.

Last year I noticed they had a bonfire at Worrall Memorial Hall, they may possibly be having another one this year.
The Robin Hood Pub at Loxley, Greaves Lane had one last year, and they will probably doing another one this year. Its quite good, big bonfire, firework display, barbecue etc, in a lovely woodland setting. They also have a Halloween Walk as well if you're interested.
And if you're really interested in a Halloween Walk, the Rose & Crown Pub at Wadsley have one every year, where everyone dresses up in Halloween gear, and walks over Wadsley Common, with a storyteller telling spooky ghost stories, its a great laugh, and I will be going on it again this year. They usually have it on Halloween or the night after.

Thanks, that'd be great. I've seen there's been bonfires in the past at the arena and have looked on their site but couldn't see anything for this year.
It's that type of kid-friendly thing we need, much as I'd love to go to a pub!

To Valentine's question.
Have just looked in the Sheffield Telegraph today, and The Rose and Crown are definitely having the Halloween Walk again! It's on Monday night (31st October), it starts at 7pm sharp, and you meet outside the pub. Its on Stour Lane at Wadsley S6. You don't need tickets or anything, it doesn't cost anything, you just turn up. You can dressed up if you want, but you don't have to. Make sure you wear some good walking shoes, as it can get a little rocky over the common in places.
Its a great laugh, you will really enjoy it. Also they have pie and peas in the pub after, and it is a really nice atmosphere.
