View Full Version : Dog in Asda, Handsworth today
sheff_minx 19-10-2005, 16:29 No not a real dog... someone dressed in a big fluffy dog suit (was supposed to be a cat but looked much more like a dog!) accompanied by a big teddy bear.
As the girl in the teddy bear outfit I would like to apologise on behalf of both myself and the dog for scaring so many little children today (despite our friendly waves and dancing!) and making so many parents Wednesday shop unbearable because of screaming infants :) so sorry!
Goes off to search for/start a "What's the Worst Job You Ever Had" Thread
so that was you was it.!!!!
*Twinkle* 19-10-2005, 16:43 Damn, how come I always miss these things!?! lol
Thanks, my little boy didn't like you.
As we were leaving the car park he said " Big doggy gone now" in a relieved sort of way !!!!
Those eyes on that cat thing were too scarey for me.
drolnhoj 19-10-2005, 17:41 First day in weeks that i did not call at Asda after dropping the kids off at school, and I miss the teddy bear. Thought I would have a change and go to Morrisons and what happens - fire drill and we all had to leave our baskets in the store and evacuate the building. Such is life.
Why was there a cat and a teddy in Asda? Have I missed something?

So you can punch then on the way out ;) A way of Asda helping with stress relief after having to put up with their 'car park'.

And the stress of half the shelves being empty. Since when has there been a shortage of Asda brand crisps and red leicester cheese? It isn't just once, it's every time I go in.
Asda's loss, Morrison's gain.
Is it just me, or have availability problems plagued Asda since Walmart took over? Its not just the one in Sheffield either, the one back in Corby is much the same.
What exactly are they doing to the car park anyway - extending it over the sliproad or what? :suspect:
And as for the carpark for Asda Corby
Designed for maximum accidents, no flippin signage - navigate by the force, as this is also the only thing you can use to see round the 'landscaping'

The landscaping was planted back in 1985 when the shop opened and I don't think they've tended to it since :hihi:
The carpark is easy if you know it well enough - and its plenty big enough

Well there you go. The only way to get round it if you're new in the area is to close your eyes and feel the force

I think Corby can be spared a bit of bad road, the rest of them are quite decent and there's nowhere near as many hills.
Anyway, we're digressing - how can kids not like big friendly dogs?
Coz they're actually cats?:suspect:
the dogs, not the kids

There are humans inside those things ?
Some form of community-service order, was it? ;)

Well what do you expect them to eat?
This made me laugh, I wish i'd gone to Asda today now ....
Most of the Asda car parks are nightmares - ever been to the one on Wakefield?
A cat that looked more like a dog and made all the kids cry
:hihi: when are you going again, i'm coming to see you ....
sheff_minx 20-10-2005, 11:35 I am NEVER doing anything like it again!! It was sooooo hot and uncomfortable inside the costume! And the reason I did it? £75 for working 10-4 with an hour dinner break and a 5min break every 90 mins!! lol.
The kids didn't seem to mind me, it was the dog (as my friend Coralie is now affectionately known ;) ) who scared them all!!
We were supposed to be promoting Carlton Cards (you know, the bubblegum things like Disco Diva, Cool Dude etc.) that they've now started stocking in store.
Just glad I was the first to wear the suit... they were going on to 4 other stores after us :gag:
EDIT: And if anybody knows the mother of the 7-year-old lad who stuck his middle finger up at me when I waved at him, please get in touch as I have a scary mutated cat-dog thing who wants to pay him a visit in the middle of the night and confirm his secret fears about the bogeyman :help:
