:help:
Don't know what to wear for my christmas party! Its my first one with this job.
Its at the Millenium Galleries, and it'll be quite posh but I don't want to overdo it in case everyone comes casual, cos one girl said last year half of them just went in a nice top and jeans. But i wanna look really nice.
Any ideas?

Sorry for not being a lady!! But I remember working for an insurance company a few years ago and everyone turned up in jeans / t-shirt etc.... except one girl.
She wore a completely see through white very clingy and very short dress, her underwear was so obvious I don't know why she bothered wearing the dress! :o
The worst part was she was so embarrased, she had a very red face all night... the next few weeks her new name was 'Lollipop'! :hihi:
haha, that's what I'm scared of!
How embarrasing must that have been! I've got a horrible image of me turning up in some floaty ballgown and everyone laughing at me!

I think you should just wear a really pretty top and some nice jeans. Overdressing is not a good idea, but underdressing might not do wonders for your reputation. I dunno about the working world...I'm only 16! But I think you should just go for the happy medium.
How about nice black trousers and a lovely top? Bit smarter than jeans but still won't feel out of place..
Hello sunshine,
if I was a lady: I'd say bugger embarrisment, dress as chic as you like. There is nothing more sexy than to see a man who has made an effort. I agree with advice of black perhaps red silk tie. Go on go whole hog, if you are confident you will never be out of place.
I think I might try and find some really nice jeans and a nice sparkly top! and if i cant find any jeans then some nice trousers or I might brave it and wear a skirt :o
I'm only 17 Glory_box so i'm a bit puzzled myself cos everyones older then me!
Thank you everyone
The knack is to layer ;)
Choose a relatively plain little black dress, but glam it up with some accessories such as one of those fancy frilly shoulder cloaks. Choose one that will fit in your handbag though, so you can slip it out of sight if you feel you've overdone it compared to everybody else :)
You can even take a change of jewelery if necessary
I've set out on a night out with work friends before, with the ultimate intention of winding up in Rebels (use 'search' if you haven't seen MuddyCoffee's pics of Rebels), and managed to not look out of place at either :D :headbang:
not a lady I know but at that kind of thing why not wear a pair of smart trousers (pin stripes?) and a shartish shirt?
