Can anyone recommend a good cobbler in Sheffield? Also how much is it to have a pair of shoes re-soled?

Mr Aldam, at the top of west street does brilliant repairs and he's reasonably priced, too! They also do a locksmith service.

(he is just below the pub which was the mailcoach, but he's above the West St tram stop/ Tesco)

Thanks Plain Talker

I may be giving this gentleman a visit over the weekend.

Any ball park figures on cost?

Try Peters Shoebar at the bottom of Fargate. Always really helpful.

Avoid Peter's like the plague!!! (is my opinion)

They aren't much cop, at all, or at least, the times I went to them, they weren't. :<

I took an expensive pair of shoes in there to be soled and heeled, and they sliced through the leather of the upper as they were trimming the sole. ruined! :<

At the same time as I was collecting the ruined shoes, there was another lady complaining, who had the exact same thing happen to her shoes, too. :<

I went to this cobblers a couple of years ago, when I had my leather kickers resoled. I was very satisfied with the result and these were my favourite shoes. Cost about £15 then. (But that was because they were brandname shoes.)

Isn't there a cobbler on Woodseats? It's near the Big Tree on the corner. It's a one man business and could turn his hand to most things.

There's a cobbler in the Castle Market. He charges £14 something for a men's sole and heel. Apparently he does a really good job and I have a friend who's had a few pairs of shoes done there.

I once went there to get my shoes soled & heeled, took them home went out in them and they had put two nails straight through the sole into the inside of my shoe, never again. Peters for me.

just been to morrisons and they said they couldn't do what i wanted - which is to get some new heels re-healed with less slippy rubber. Anyone had this done anywhere?
