did you ever run away from home when you were younger- and if you did --how long were you gone for before you returned home?

Yes, once, but suddenly remembered that I wasn't allowed to cross the road on my own so went home 2 minutes later.

They didn't miss me.:(

I ran away from home when i was younger. I planned it perfectly....

I was to sleep on the school roof and live off the packet of Ryvita i had bought (if mum could live off em, so could i). All went to plan until my older brother caught me after about an hour and gave me a kicking in :suspect:

Went visiting with a friend and we fell out so I decided to walk home. No idea where I was at the time (we were in Norfolk Park) and I lived in Westfield.
It took me 3 hours to get home (i was 8 so legs were much shorter). Arrived home to find police vans on the doorstep and my poor mother (who'd been aged another 5 years - shes 367 now you know) was going frantic.
Didn't do thats agian......

I can recall running away from home once, think it was because my dad gave my brother and sister a kitkat but I wasnt allowed one... i ran up to my grandma's (who lived on the next road up) and i was crying saying that dad didnt love me anymore...

I ran away from home a few times.

Once I slept in the bus shelter all night (bit embarassing when people turned up for their buses for work in the morning)

Another time I left quite late at night, walked around all night, couldn't find anywhere to stay so ended up walking home early in the morning. Just as I was almost home a police car stopped to ask if I was ok - shame the other police cars that passed me during the night never stopped to ask ...

Another time I left I managed to get a room in a hostel, but I was dragged back home the next day ...

perhaps I should add - I wasn't a child, I was 21 and married to first (now ex) hubby :|

When I was about 8ish, I took my sleeping bag & a packet of Bourbon biscuits up onto our old Air-raid shelter. I felt like I was in the Famous Five!!

I came down after a few hours.... It was raining & I think Bullseye was on

A few months later, me and the missus (also 8ish) decided to run away together.... You would have thought I'd have learnt, but oh no. Back up onto the Air-raid shelter :D

Needless to say the relationship never worked out! :hihi:

When I was a wee bairn, I always had my duffle bag packed - just in case .... I remember it was maroon with a cream trim ...

Anyway, apart from other bits and pieces I had my most prized posession in there - big doll.

Related to another thread, but, as kids we were always taught how to escape in case of fire - and I always made sure big doll was at the side of me so that I could make sure she was safe too ... :D

Big doll still lives with me and has her own chair in one of the spare rooms .... ahhhh
