Does anyone know of any halls for hire in Sheffield suitable for holding a ceilidh in? For those unsure, ceilidh basically involves live music with people dancing to it, so plenty of dancefloor space is necessary and a stage would be ideal but not essential.
The ideal first-choice venue is the Royal Society for the Blind's hall on Mappin Street, but it's not going to be there for that much longer. For anyone who knows it, something similar is what I'm looking for. The event I'm thinking of organising would be early March next year (St David's day - or thereabouts - ceilidh, for those who are interested in such things) so it's safer to assume that it won't be there by then and look for an alternative venue. It will be a public event, so the building would need to either have its own entertainments licence or be suitable for us to obtain one to hold an event there.
Ideally I'd like somewhere in or near the city centre, or maybe in Crookes/Walkley/Hillsborough direction, or just generally easy to find/get to. Any ideas considered though, as there don't seem to be many of these kind of venues about!
