Yeah, yeah, yeah - we know it's heading for winter and all that - but there'll be camp fires, a caravan awning and a gas fire for the really nesh amongst you. ;)

Both tents and Caravans are welcome - although there's no electrical hook-up.

It's a basic site in that facilities are essentially just toilets and a tap, but it's friendly and only about ten minutes by car from Bakewell and a mile or so from showers that we can access on another site (we'll probably be doing a shower run for those of you who need to freshen up).

It's ridiculously cheap at £3 per person per night. Charges are payable on arrival.

As usual we'll be doing a BBQ on the Friday and Saturday night. Bring your own disposable BBQ (or arrange to share one with someone before you come) and whatever you want to eat/drink. Alternatively, bring what you want to eat and drink on the Friday and then on the Saturday, as most of us do, you could buy fresh supplies at Co-op in Bakewell - that way all your food won't have been sitting around in cool boxes since the day before.

Little ask. Could all those of you who are coming please bring a wax burning log to pop on the camp fire? These are a couple of quid each (usually available from supermarkets) and last for about an hour. If we all get at least one each we'll ensure we've got enough firelight to last the weekend and whatever's left over will be brought next time.

We're bringing some friends along this time, so there'll be a few new faces. If anyone's thinking of joining us for the very first time, don't be nervous, you won't be alone. :)

Re: fireworks -although initially I was kind of up for it, upon reflection I'd hate to worry the animals with the noise. I think it could really upset them. There's also the risk of alienating ourselves from the locals - so how about chinese lanterns and sparklers? (I'm not boring, honest - just considerate) :D

I've checked with Haddon re: the showers - and you're right, it will be closed. So no showers folks. We'll just have to ming. Super!

lol re: Ramsay's best restaurants. I was kind of hoping my piece to camera would make it, but sadly it didn't. Oh well. it was a great experience anyway. :)

I've just spoken to the site owner's wife and she says they don't accept dogs.

I'm sure I remember seeing one there before, but now I've asked and had it confirmed that they don't, it would be wrong to then turn up with one. Sorry. :(

Hehe! Nice one. Me too. :)

This is shaping up to be the biggest camp meet ever - despite the cold weather.

As for the gas fire, I'm renting it out. Shall we say a cuppa an hour?

They must be blinking mad.

We went to Youlgreave this halloween weekend with some friends, and I believe this is where you are all heading.

It was quite cold on the Friday night and a bit milder on the Saturday, I slept in x2 sleeping bags and a silk innner lining and I was quite warm, the evening weather was chilly, but no rain.

However end of November is another story, I hope everyone has got "all season" sleeping bags, a normal conventional sleeping bag will be a bit cold, because you are going to need them, along with alot of quilts and blankets, and make sure your floor in the tent has underlay (eg blankets) before you put your roll mats on, thats if you use rollmats. The temperature will be below zero in November.

There was milldue on my sleeping bag when I woke up on Saturday and my nose felt it was dropping off. I am not trying to put anyone off, I am giving you advice on how cold it was when we went in October.

But I am sure you have all been briefed on what is required from your organiser.

Even I wouldnt even go camping in November, so have fun all. :)

Due to the wonder of Facebook, I already knew that you were intending to wish us well.

Not much gets past me, Petie. ;)

However I'm sure everyone attending will appreciate your advice - so thanks for that, Pete. It was really thoughtful of you.

Of course you're welcome to join us - and yes, you can join us on the Saturday. :)

I'm assuming most sites are ok with genny's? I don't know much about them to be honest.

I'll drop you the details of the site via PM. :)

Just a quick reminder for those who are coming from the forum to please bring a wax/paraffin log or two - and/or some wood logs for firewood if you can get hold of some.

If you can't find any then just drop me a PM. We don't mind picking the stuff up, but we'd appreciate a small contribution to help cover costs.

Ta muchly.

Also, it might be good to take note of Spiderpete's thoughtful advice re: being prepped up - although I'm sure you all know what you're doing. :)

Just thought I'd let you know that they sell logs in the centre of Bakewell. There is a shop opposite Co-op that has many logs, great value too :)
