Argh can't make my mind up about where to go tonight, Poptastic at Fuel with a striptease contest hosted by the Cheeky Girls or Rozalla at Climax?

Guess I'll end up going where the majority of my mates go, Climax more tempting for me tonight, its nearer home, cheaper drinks and a change from las week and the week before at Fuel and kind of feel loyal to Climax after all these years but who knows!

i just have one question why is fuel running poptastic the same night as climax ? wouldnt it be better for people the week after, plus then both venues will be full and people wouldnt feel torn

To tempt custom from Climax, but to be fair Fuel has approached the organisers at the University with a view of working together but was ignored.

Went to Climax last night and had a great time, it was really busy, really pleased that the presence of Fuel in Sheffield hasn't had much of an effect on Climax's turnout.

Lots of homo-mad promotions going on and was suprised when the Freemasons came on stage and sang 'Love On My Mind' followed by Rozalla, lol!

Liking all the projection screens and lighting around the Dj and stage looks really cool.

We (fuel) are really glad to hear that there is enough people in sheffield to make both ourselves and climax busy on the same night!

we never wanted to do any damage to climax and even approached them untold times, in an effort to work together (still no response).

however, being a full time gay venue and climax being such a good, massive, monthly event, it would be suicide not to put something big on to retain our custom, not to steal theirs.
if we had put nothing on chances are we would have been very quiet.

i hope the fact that our presence hasn't affected climax this week can put people's fears aside about there being an issue between us.

we would certainly welcome climax responding to our communications and possibly even working together on bigger things like a pride event and promoting the cities gay scene to other places. but we will have to wait and see.

we didn't chose to do poptastic on the same night as climax but we had to chose a regular friday for it before we opened.

we couldn't have the first friday of the month because they are in hull.

we couldn't have the last friday of the month because they are in nottingham

that left us with either the 2nd or 3rd fridays.
both of which climax randomly fluctuates between.

we chose the second friday as climax didn't appear to use that one as much as the 3rd friday.

we also tried to contact climax by phone and email to discuss the dates so as not to clash but again we had nothing returned.

i have personaly sent 4 emails to different people in the uni ents department that look after climax and have left at least 10 messages either on ansaphones or with people, to absolutley no avail.

Hi Andy,

i have personaly rung your office, emailed your team and sent you a formal letter regarding wanting to talk to you and hopefully working together to ensure both of our success and the building of the scene in sheffield.
i have spoken to numerous people in your department
(inc the guy who ran viva climax).
i am sorry that i have obviously never managed to contact you but i am not familiar with your roles/heirarchy at sheff uni.
but i have tried VERY hard to talk to someone.
in fact i have been trying for ages before we even opened.
i was told that 'the person who looks after climax' was on holiday around the time of viva climax. but no more than that.

so anyway, now we know who we both are and are finally in contact, would you like to talk?
perhaps we could have a coffee and discuss the current gay scene in sheffield and how things could move forward in a positive manner for all of us.

my email is - danny@fuel-sheffield.co.uk
tel - 0114 2753999

i look forward to the opportunity to meet you.

thanks

danny
