we have just bought a motorhome having never even stayed in one before:loopy: basically we are wanting a site that is not too far away as we can only go for 1 night [friday] that is clean and has all the facilities but preferably not too busy, we have 2 kids that we are taking any advice?

Hi Sheffgrow,

This (http://www.barnfarmcamping.com/) is a great site for you - and it's not too far to travel either.

The facilities are excellent.

Hiya , When we bought our T25 we went here in Hope just for the night
www.lanesidecaravanpark.co.uk
It was fine , and even got takeaway pizza delivered to the van because it was raining that hard!!! Sad I know but good!!!

Callow top at Ashbourne is the best family one I know although it may be a little cold now! It even has its own brewery!

Hi we are members of the Caravan Club, it's about £35 per year... for your first year you might want to join this or the Camping & Caravan club.

Their clubsites are always of an excellent standard, you know what you are getting and there are serviced pitches and hardstandings etc, usually a small play area for kids.

Hardhurst farm is great and has a new shower block. Its behind the Travellers pub on the Castleton Road (A625 I think). The have a cafe on site which does breakfasts till about 10.30 on a weekend. We go regular as its 20 mins from our house but feels a million miles away. Here is a link

There is also Eden Tree at Bradwell behind the Samuel Fox pub which does great food but aint the cheapest.

greenhills campsite just outside of bakewell (1mile)(you can find it on google or the campsite finder -link in other posts above) is excellent for children theres a play area in the centre of the site with shop and bar/pub not much facilities as calow tops in ashbourne but a lot nearer to sheffield, wonderful place, we camp there at least 3x per year, you must book though the site gets fully booked due to its popularity
