My partner's mum recently died and I've discovered quite a few bags with wool in them. I do knit myself, but haven't time to do anything with what I've found (I've got loads of wool to knit up myself). If anyone out there knitting for charity can make use of it, please contact me and I'll check through what there is. I'm pretty sure there's some double knit but also some a bit chunkier I think.

Sorry for your loss and your partner's, I'm sure there will be someone who will be glad of the donation :)
The Longshaw Estate would be grateful for it.

I know that many hospitals and Oxfam take knitted blankets for children or premature babies - I currently run a scheme where I ask people to knit a square and then I sew up the blanket and there are loads of charities in need of things like that. If you don't have time for knitting the wool, you could send it to me, look for something similar or just ask people to knit squares (very good for beginners if you know any) and then just sew up the blanket yourself.
Hope this is of use

Hi Gwyneth. Thanks. The squares are 37 st x 6" (thus making a 6" square) and knitted in garter stitch.

Hi Gwyneth - forgot to say - double knitting on 4mm needles. Thanks
Brilliant thanks - that will keep me out of Mischief!
You can also get patterns on line for knitting Chemo caps for Children, they like bright colors, soft wools, cannot have any seams.
