That poor 14 year old girl. And the sick ppl that have done it should feel ashamed of themselves.

Just letting you all know, I've gone to bed 1 hour early to account for all the lost sleep i'm going to lose tonight...

Kids pick on other kids, it's just part of growing up.. If anything it makes those weak kids tougher! :thumbsup:

You call me immature.. lol... end of the day some of us spent the entire day away from their PC... and therefore in the grand scheme of things that are the world, and my life, I'd say it's not worth two tiny mouse sized ****s.

Anyway, my unintelligent/sarcastic reply was more a dig at the trival news. OH NOES, a girl of 14 got picked on by another girl of 14... and it was video'd... END OF THE WORLD TYPE STUFF.

really? I have seen people admit to speeding, scratching up cars paintwork and several other illegal activities which I dont remember off the top of my head. Do all these people get arrested?

Nope, but in this instance it isn't just an insurance claim, and it is a police appeal. 2c4s's post reads like there's more to it than meets the eye

2c4s would no doubt consider it a little more important than they do at the moment if it was their 14 yr old daughter who had been attacked for absolutely nothing by some ASBO merchant looking for somewhere to get excluded from.

There is nothing hidden in this incident and it is a straight forward case of an innocent young girl being subjected to an attack by the usual mindless rubbish that this country could well do without. !!!

Part of growing up? You say it as though it's welcome. I'd disagree with your comments on making kids tougher. Incidents of bullying whether verbal or physical makes people unhappy and destroys lives. It's the good stuff that makes people gain confidence and as a result become tougher.

Unfortunately, bullying has been going on for years it's just the new mobile phone technology which has created this new problem. Bullying needs tackling rather than just accepting

Can't the police pay these 'bored youngsters' to film speeding motorists instead of filming their fellow hoodies beating up ginger-haired, large nosed youngsters?

They could be paid in cigarettes or turps, or be given a free ten pound each way bet at Goodwood, whichever they prefer. And if they target 4x4s, then they could win a Nintendo.

If they can get say, 20 cars travelling at 31mph in a 30mph zone caught on their phone cameras, then with Bonfire Night around the corner, they could be given sufficient TNT to blow up their school AND have the pleasure of getting ten of their mates stone and bottle the firemen who have come to put the fire out.

That'll keep our 'bored youngsters' quiet for a while. Who needs ASBOS, eh?

As for the "bullying makes weak kids tougher!" type arguments. No it bloody doesn't. My life was hell at school, and one of the main protaganists is now a member of this forum (not naming names), but seeing as that was ten years ago I've learned to deal with things and we just avoid each other, as it's easier.

The bullying made me introverted, shy, sarcastic, cynical and bitter. There was happy slapping long before there was video phones, it's the idiot mentality of these yobs that makes them think recording themselves committing crimes and sending it to their mates is a good idea....

Kids to pick on each other all the time, but that doesn't make it right

2c4s, maybe you should be happy slapped, and then you'll see if it makes you tougher, or if you're just weak.

I have exactly the same problem - my hair is dark brown but my beard (if I leave it a couple of days) gets horrible ginger patches in it - am I a freak?

I blame my parentage - so far my offspring have not developed the 'strain' - then again neither of them grow beards :)

Anyhow back on subject - Happy Slapping is just the media's way of trivialising 'mindless violence', makes people think its not that serious because its using 'new technology' to record it.

The fact they've recorded it means it is pre-meditated and should be punished accordingly.
