View Full Version : Do you fancy a total stranger?
Do you pass someone on your way to work (or wherever!)every day and think "Cor! They're gorgeous!"?
I pass one chap every day at the same bus stop, and hes hot hot hot! This is what i know about him:
He always looks unahppy
He always sits ont he railings next to the bus stop outside Hillsbo Leisure centre
I think he is a plumber or gas fitter of some sort due to his padded knee type trousers
Do you think he wants a lift?
;)
Anyone else want to share? Or is it just me living in my own universe?
Just me then?? I guess id best see a phsychiatrist?
This kinda thing happened to a friend of mine... God she would rant and rave about this georgous looking guy that she would see practically every morning on the way to work... they got to the stage of waving to one another lol
If she didnt see him she would be so gutted and i'd have to pick her chin up off the floor lol
Well she had this crazy idea of looking for him... she knew the direction in which he walked so one lunch time she was dragging me all round the retail park trying to seek him down... he wore a shirt and tie so knew he had to be a sales person of some sort... anyway that didnt work so...
Plan B... Write a note and hand it to him on her way in... this actually happened you imagine being handed a note by a total stranger with your mobile number on it... how she had the guts to do that kinda thing i dont know... er... yeah i do i lied it was my idea :hihi: well what can i say she had it bad...
Result: Nothing lol  always worth a try tho i guess...
There is another story too... but think it would take too long... :p

LadyInRed 12-10-2005, 20:33 once fancied the guy in natwest in town, used to think of reason to go in ALL the time when i worked in town, he was lovely, but when i saw him about town, i was so nervous when he spoke to me i froze and stutterd my words!
Er said no, but once was and started stalking him. then one night he came up to me and said "I'm sure u stalk me, or I am stalking you!" which was more the truth! great seeeeex but what a ****! DON'T APPROACH STRANGERS! End's miserably!

CherryNicole 12-10-2005, 21:17 I kinda do. It's not that I fancy them, they just intrigue me.
I see the same two guys while I'm on the train to work everyday (well, not everyday now, they've changed their patterns, I'm trying to work out a correlation :D stalker alert) Anyway, they intrigue me.
Is it just us girls who notice when complete strangers are in different moods?? I always wonder if they notice the mood I'm in. Maybe I should make my moods more dramatic!
One day, I'm going to speak to them

Ok! as you kept on at me...
She has a little boy who every morning she would take to nursery...
The woman who looked after my friends son had a very goodlooking youngish next door neighbour who my friend happened to see on the odd occasion...and yet again took a shining too lol Seriously she isnt that bad lol
Anyway... when she'd pick her son up she would sometimes make that special effort of a little make up just incase she saw him...
One day her son took a liking to the guy's motorbike but she was too embarrassed to stick around so quickly got her son away and made a run for it lol
She wasnt happy as she'd missed a perfect opportunity to have a chat with him... so who does she call upon? Moi!
Full of idea's me lol
Well she came and picked me up and asked me what she should do... so i came up with the idea that... her son wanted to see his bike again... she thought this was a stupid idea at first but then warmed to it...
So off we go back to this guys house... only to find he had gone in... she asked for more ideas... so i told her go knock on his door and tell him your really sorry but your son wants to see his bike again... we both burst out laughing as that was a bit wacky and crazy!
So the next plan was for her to post a note through the door with her number on it... she so badly wanted some contact with this guy... she ran off and posted it through his door...
She heard nothing for several days... and of course she was beside herself acting the fool in posting her number through his door...
As days/weeks went by she wanted to make sure he had the note... she thought it might have got stuck under the mat or something lol we drove over there... she bottled it she couldnt think of a reason to be knocking on his door... yep you got it... back to me!
Like a little kid i went and knocked on his door asking this stranger if he'd got my mates number... to my amazement he said 'yeah... sorry! can you tell her i will be calling her within the next day or so... i have been meaning to but been a little tied up with work' i went away with a huge grin on my face i knew she was going to so chuffed...
I got back in the car with a face like thunder and told her that a girl answered the door in a towel and how sorry i was... you should have seen her face drop... it was a true picture... she was gutted! She kept asking me if i were serious... but then had to put her out of her misery...
I was her best mate for life... lol
Result: They went out on a few dates but nothing really came of it... they did have a nice time whilst it lasted tho thats the main thing...
Hope i didnt build anyones hopes up that it was gonna be a fab story! :?
ps told ya it was a long story lol
LOL, thats a good story....
Do you think that you could come up with some ideas for me? lol!

I was about to say Life is far too short...
Never let an opportunity pass you by... as like with your situation... we're not always given that second chance...
But the way you have to see it is... if you were ment to be with her she would have been on the bus that day...
Strange how life works sometimes...
the_rudeboy 13-10-2005, 08:14 I fancied someone I had only previously seen a photo of. When I met her in the flesh.........wow.....I was blown away.....she was gawgeous. ;)

what do u know?
I fancied a builder that worked in Howard Street for ages - I didnt see him every morning, but when I did, I got the distinct impression that he felt the same way, so after about 8 months, I decided to take the plunge and gave him my number - nothing ventured, nothing gained. It took a lot of guts, I can tell you! Well, I handed it to him, saying "I've been wanting to do this for ages" and turned round to walk away. Unknown to me, he followed me all the way to work! I was actually on the phone to a friend, telling her "mission accomplished" - she knew what I was planning to do - and as I turned round, there he was!! We spoke for a while, and I was right, he had noticed me. So we arranged to go for a drink and you know what? There was nothing there! I fancied the face and the body - but not the mind or the personality. All that time - for nothing! I must admit to feeling a bit disappointed, but if I hadnt taken the bull by the horns I'd never have known. Life is too short to wonder "what if". Go for it! You never know - you might just be lucky.
intooblivion 13-10-2005, 09:38 All the time!!! Every bloke that passes me I think in my head 'he'd get it' or 'definitely not'. Men watching is my hobby
well i have been on the receiving end of this situation! i was a bit of a girl racer in my time and drove a black XR2, there was this lad that drove a blue one that i always seemed to bump into him and his mate in the shop near where i lived...
I was really over protective of my little car and was always worried that someone would try and nick it or break into it for the stereo gear..
This one day on my way home from work i called into the shop and there they were again (id spotted the car outside) i quickly got served and got into my car and bombed home as fast as i could as i didn't want them to know where i lived because i didn't want them to know where the car was kept (how suspitious i am!!)
That was that really.. until about a week later when i let my dog out in the morning before work, i noticed something stuck on the inside of my garden gate, as i approached i realised it was an envelope on the outside it said 'To the girl that drives the black xr2' !!!!
inside was a note asking me to meet him.. well i did as i'd noticed he was quite nice before and we saw each other for about six months or so.. it fizzled out in the end.
The only reason he'd found out i lived there was as i'd bombed home that day and parked round the back of the house, they'd noticed the break lights shining on the fence as i'd stopped..!!

My circumstances are:
Drive past this chap every day
Sitting on the railings outside the leisure center
Waiting for a bus presumably
Probably has a girlfriend or is straight
Thats about it really!
It brightens up my day when I have a pretty girl on the bus/walk past a pretty girl. Maybe that is just me being sad though!

Brightnes up my day when someone smiles at me or when someone is really friendly like in a shop or something... just to a couple of nice words passed between you really can bring a smile to your face...
Example: i went to the post office the other day 2 people behind the counter middle aged i would say...
Anway i was returning an item of clothing and they started laughing and joking saying they'd be trying it on when i'd gone etc...
When i walked away they said bye to me... i walked out the post office with a smile on my face... People can be so nice and friendly... that really made my morning!

That to me smiling from the inside out always makes me feel good :)

Out and about mainly...i think... people are just generally talking about falling for a stanger that just happens to catch your eye walking passed... or someone who just happens to be in the same place as yourself...
I must be walking around with my eyes shut! Doh! lol

Too shy to speak to them though, story of my life. No wonder im always single arghh !!
I liked the *hand them a note* thing, i might do that heheheheh !!
beansfeast 13-10-2005, 12:10 Getting the bus into work every day is soooo boring! To relieve the monotony I sometimes try and maintain eye contact with the girls for as long as possible. It's quite good fun, especially when you catch them day dreaming and they suddenly notice someone is watching them! (Not in a scary way, lol)... They suddenly start straightening up and checking their hair etc!! lol :heyhey:
Of course, I'd never take it any further coz my missus is the one I really want!
I have always fancied the idea of 2 complete strangers meeting with no strings attached. Just 2 or 3 hrs of time snatched from a busy life to share with someone who cares.

But Hazel, surely if they were strangers and no strings were attached they couldn't possibly care?
Not initially but after 2/3 meetings he/she would and did.
hazel
sugarnspice 13-10-2005, 12:50 Once someone cares, I don't think they're a stranger.
I have the added advantage of walking past/being on the bus with sexy students. And if I get a 52 Freshers!
You are right, you would have to met a differnt person everytime, then they would not care so the concept would be lost

That would be like having a sexual partner... and even those can get complicated... and even cause hurt... specially when one falls for the other...
Dangerous games!

No just me then! Looks like im not crazy after all!!
talktofrank 13-10-2005, 14:57 well as a first post this will be both long and boring no doubt. Its the same sort of thing on the bus to work i spotted the most breath taking beautiful girl i had ever seen but did not say ant thing cos i was attached unhappy but attached so i carryied on just the occational smile or raise of the eye brows if you know what i mean. then it finaly got too much i had to say something it was nothing too fantastic but did the job of being able to talk to this beautiful stranger. so we started talking to each other i made well aware i was taken but not happy but she turned into a good friend we could talk about anything soon i just looked forward to seeing her every morning and ever night on the bus journey home it kinda made work worth while cos i knew i had a great journey home with her and we carried on like this went out a few times then i did the silly thing of falling for her big time and the more time spent together the more i needed to tell her how i felt and still feel but this has far from an happy ending. so we went out i told her and she shot me down in flames we could only be friends i did this a couple more times with the same result but then it all clicked in to place she felt the same trouble with this was still with the other person who i felt bad about cos of me finding this amazing person i am now split from this person but all a bit too late cos i kept promising that i could move away but always went back through guilt on my part so i carried on promising the world but never delivered and it was not good enough for the beautiful girl i had felt so much for she rightly said she never wanted to speak to me see me and wished she had never met me but she could never know how i regret not being the bigger person and moving out quicker to be with her she will be on my mind for a very long time but i just wish i could have done things right and ended up seeing if how we got on could have been a great relationship but i didnt i messed about and on the way i lost what could have been a beautiful thing may be one day i will get to say sorry but i doubt it now i have hurt every one......
So me be you are all right meeting total strangers can be fun but just as bad too life is what you make it so we should all just have fun with it as it far too short.. All i seem to do is collect regrets but i am trying to change so i can enjoy the moment rather than get messed up in it...
told you all it would be long well sorry if i bored any one i hope i help poeple sleep too............
and breathe :D :D
nice story but it could have done with a few hits of the return button there frank!! :D
talktofrank 13-10-2005, 15:17 I Think your right but grammer and spelling just are not my thing. but i hope you enjoyed any way I on the other hand is still feeling it quite a lot may be i will be cool and get on with things some day and stop thinking constantly about her but till then i guess its just going to do my head in for a while!!!
Frank my friend...that is a good story. I enjoyed reading it and was not at all bored!
I have been in a similar position with a chap. Fell head over heels, but never told him how i felt. I dropped hints, and we had "fun" a couple of times, but then all of a sudden he didnt want to speak to me any more...its stayed that way for 4 years now....so sad...
I still think about him often, but i am not as hung up on him as i was....
But anyway! Back to topic!
What am i to do about this random stranger that i fancy?
talktofrank 13-10-2005, 16:25 you should say something anything i said some thing really stupid to get talking to the girl on the bus but i cant say what has then it will give away my name cos not called frank but nevermind. any way you can either think never say any thing and just enjoy the view. Talk to him and see if he is interested in you cos it could be the case the worse bit would be never knowing even if it all gos bad better to have tryed and failed than to never have tryed right??
Dose he smile back at you or do you look from a far??
no quite the same but When I started at my current job I was waiting in reception and there was a girl in my training group who literally made my jaw drop. That hardly ever happens.

I look from Afar...i drive past him every day...hes at the bus stop, im in my car!
Id like to walk round town with some badges and hand them out to women who look really great. Nothing sleazy.. just something like:
"Hi, can i give you this badge for looking totally hot today.. Thank you and have a nice day"
Can anyone think of a slogan for the badge??
During lunch today I went for a drive and I was singing along to the old Shaun Ryder bit of Dare on Radio 1, as you do. There was a very foxy girl driving in front of me who was probably listening to Radio 1 too as she kept staring at me in her mirror and could probably guess by my lip movements that I was singing along to what she was listening to. She looked like she was giving me a good eyeing up anyway.
Either that or she thought I was bonkers for singing to myself.
Anyway, I turned a different way to her, so I guess I'll never know.

I guess I'm going shopping this weekend to get some padded knee trousers... then try to find the bus stop you're talking about!! And I'll need to practise doing this:
Do you fancy a total stranger? Not a Total stranger.... i see/talk to her about 4/5 times week.. i say hi/hello etc...
The world is full of beautiful strangers..... but i think the moral of story should be.... (for those who are with a partner) "You can look, but you cant touch"
its our animal instincts......
CherryNicole 14-10-2005, 22:12 This thread almost pursuaded me to talk to the strangers that intrigue me. But then I chickened out :D Ah, roll on monday morning, see you on the train boys :D
EdnaKrabappe 16-10-2005, 13:21 Mm.
I am painfully shy at making the first hello in a public situation, even though on the four occasions I have, I've had a 100% return rate! I've never been ignored so i don't know why I don't just talk.
When I used to catch the train to Leeds, it amazed me how when people eventually talk to you, how much they've observed about you as well.
Like Pauline said, people you see regularly, you assume little details about them. Hardest to speak when it's someone you like, see a lot and you've never said anything to them except an acknowledgement.
Would love to talk to one guy i see, but think he's too young/well out of my league/probably attached. Also seeing as he serves me regularly, don't want to stop going there. Have seen him in other places i go, when he's been out socialising and he's said hi to me but i just do the old hi and drop the eyes routine. Probably thinks I'm a right stuck up cow but it honestly is embarrassment.
dieselbabe 16-10-2005, 13:49 I dont fancy strangers much now a days. But i do remeber a time i was 15 he was 19 and i fancy a lad that worked at a butchers in eccelsfield.I always wanted to go for my mum for the meat so i see him. Then i found out his name,Then after a wile the feeling died..Then i got on the cb radio and met my 1st serious boyfriend and was so shocked when i went to his house to meet his mum that his brother was this lad who i fancied for ages and then all the feeling came back lol.. so no i do not fancy strangers no more in that way,i can sometimes walk past someone and think wow he nice lookin but that about it now.
mr.blaze 16-10-2005, 14:24 I fancy my hairdresser and the pizza girl. Not quite sure if it's the women in uniform thing yet.

So your boyfriend walks round with blinkers on does he, and never sees anyone that he likes the look of?
If he does that its a bit of a mystery how he ever had a girlfriend in the first place.

Not all that much of a stranger if you know what her name is surely?
Or is that just on her name badge where she works?!
Or are you a professional stalker :hihi:
talktofrank 25-10-2005, 13:06 Since this thread i find my self being smiled at by a few girls on the train journey to work,
this morning was no different a girl with a gray hooded top and black and white stripy gloves she was very very very good lookin and i was uttley and totally gob smacked that she was lookin at me
but did not say any thing did not have the guts!
beansfeast 25-10-2005, 13:09 Sounds like we should be getting some badges printed with logo's like - 'Forum Fanciers Society' or something!
That way, when you see someone on the way to work etc that you like the look of and they're wearing a badge - you know where to come to find them!!
talktofrank 25-10-2005, 13:29 Now That sounds like the thing we need. plus it would be a mutual respect thing you know you see a member of SF and you can say hi so it would be good,
but like communisum its not going to work but still a fantastic idea!!

I've just seen the stranger who i fancy.... with a girl :(
And she's a girl I went to school with!
I had a wierd experience with a stranger I fancied a few years ago..
I was walking across devonshire green one sunny saturday and this really cute guy was walking towards me on the path and we were looking at each other and for some strange reason we stopped (I'm not normally that brave with strangers!) and one of us said "do we know each other?" and we went thru all the places we might know each other from but we couldn't figure it out.....
I wanted to get his number cos he was gorgeous and I felt like we had this mad connection, but I was in a happy relationship at the time and I got the impression he was too.. so we just shrugged, smiled and said goodbye and I went on my way... a bit freaked out.
I often wonder who he was and why it felt like I knew him so well... and what might have been if we hadn't been attached..
It was one of the weirdest experiences of my life.. like deja vu...
(if I'd been drunk in a nightclub he wouldn't have got away without a more thorough examining! :heyhey: )

Cool story. Makes you wonder if its possible to make a connection with someone without knowing anything about them.
When i met my ex i first saw her in the pub a few weeks beforehand and something attracted me to her. I started thinking about her, who she was ect. and a few weeks later plucked up the courage to speak. Then we were together for 5 years!!
Thought i connected with a girl the other week but that was me being a jerk:suspect:
chickmonk 02-11-2005, 14:40 I used to swoon over a guy who worked as a barman in the Priory pub in town.
Fit Waiter Guy, where did you go? Thank you for many happy hours of eye candy!!!

It certainly felt like there was something going on
(Tho if our paths crossed again I think I would be would be totally freaked out!)
I like to think thats there something we don't quite understand going on sometimes.. especially when it comes to love.

There are more things in heaven and earth..... and all that.
I'm a great believer in Fate - that there are some people we are meant to come across in our lives - other souls that we have a karmic connection with.
I think that's what love at first sight is all about.

hey love, i'm here!
I didnt walk up ecclesall road at 8.40ish yesterday, as my seminar had been cancelled, so I walked up an hour late...
Going to be walking up on the wednesday coming so I'll keep my eyes open
Its not strangers so much that I think about, but rather people who i see every day but never speak to. You know when you start to create these ideas about what they're likes and dislikes are what they look like out of uniform and outside work.
yuppypuppy 03-11-2005, 14:32 am still clearer on whether its me...any clues....incidentally i took the bus on wednesday...!

stars_gazing 07-12-2005, 19:19 I HAD A CRUSH ON A NATWEST GUY...
He sooooo good looking (like, stop-breathing hot :P)... I'm starting to think Natwest only hires good looking guys :suspect: ...

Kirsty_87 07-12-2005, 19:22 When I go to the shop to get my breakfast in a morning theres sometimes this mighty fine guy waiting to be served. He is well hot. I was stood next to him today ... OMG... i didnt know what to do. I go totally shy (when im not drunk that is) when it comes to lads so Iv got no chance lol
There's this lass at Karate I go to, she's a brown belt and she's quite attractive and fit, the instructor keeps teasing that she likes me, lol and like I said I think she's quite nice but I don't really know her name even though I've trained with her twice a week for nearly 18 months and I'd be too chicken to ask her out or anything anyway as I think she's slightly older than me :(
AHHH...reading through this thread sends shivers up my spine
YOUR ALL IN LOVE...don’t waste time trying to pluck up courage...life is not a rehearsal just go to him/her and let your feelings be known...after all there are few psychics around so how is he/she supposed to know you fancy them if you don’t TELL THEM !.........if it doesn’t work out its not meant to be :D
how can u fancy a stranger? when i see people, i just look and look away again.
i prefer getting to know them abit first.
antisocial 07-12-2005, 23:16 How's this for a sloppy romantic fancying stranger story..
While trying to get over breakup with long term partner, I was catching bus to work with my friend (officegirl in fact so she can vouch this is true)...was going over the same ground you go over after a break up and said next time round I wanted an artistic, musical bloke....
"In fact I want one of those" I said pointing to bloke who had just got off bus.
About a week later was out with house mate, when was introduced to a friend of a friend of his, turned about to be the bloke from the bus, and he had remembered seeing me and could describe encounter in detail...where I was on bus etc..
Anyway...we're getting married in October....
And he plays guitar and was DJ, did work making art work for clubs once but is more of a petrol head than artist...but I'm not quibbling over details...
So there you go....if there was ever an incentive to seize the day....

Thankyou for that little bit of inspiration!! :-D I shall make myself known if I am lucky enough to spot him! Life's too short... and anyways, I can always take the car to uni instead if I make a tit of myself!

straylight_r 08-12-2005, 09:08 I used to see a boy in morrisons in Barnsley that was absolutely gorgeous but after a year he disappeared... then a few months later he reappeared in a music shop... I saw him on a night out a few weeks ago, told him I liked him and I've been seeing him for about 3 weeks now, woo!

I wouldnt call it fancy as such... more of a... like the look of and wouldnt mind getting to know them better...
I have found out tho in the past you really cannot go on looks alone... yeah! looks good / hot / fit however you wanna dress it up... but pffft no personality...
Personality is a huge thing in life... personalities are very attractive given a chance...
When i worked at Barclays i befriended this guy... nothing special to look at... but as time went by and i got to know him more & more... i became quite attracted to him... the feeling became mutual in time... but nothing could've happened as the 2 of us had got so close within our friendship it would just have been wrong to take things further... He was a great mate... still in touch now and again :)
*Twinkle* 08-12-2005, 09:48 :( Didn't see my stranger this morning! Not fair! I walked down Ecclesall Road sniffing every male that fits his description... But wasn't swept of my feet by his scent, so our paths didn't cross today... I've got Wednesday and Thursday of next week when I can possibly see him... after that, I break up from uni and I wont be going back until 30th Jan! (By which time, he may have run out of aftershave :o )
funkymonkey 08-12-2005, 10:32 Yes i too have a problem, almost everyday i see this absolute stunning girl on the tram on the way into work, she's only on for two stops so its pretty brief. The trams always packed so i can't go over and if i do i'll probably mess it up by saying something stupid. I know she see's me but im not sure if she is interested.
Your thought's on this matter will be very helpful.
There's a girl that works at my place that I see sometimes going for breaks (it's a massive place, 4000 people!) who always smiles at me. I think she's mint but I just never have a good excuse to start talking to her! Maybe she'll be at the works xmas do :)
There was a girl that works behind the bar of the pub we sometimes go to for dinner that I liked for ages.. But she's no longer a stranger as I got her number last week and have seen her a couple of times already
Must admit fancying a stranger, having the balls to speak to her and then hopefully having a romance is something i definately want to do. Being that spontanious must be great when there is so much to discover!!
My problem is i went to see a tarot reader beginning of November who told me i would have a romance with someone i knew back then. Dont suppose anyone i met and got to know since would be included?
Which is a bit disturbing as there are only a couple of woman i know i would like to get to know :heyhey:.
Cant see anything happening there for a while then!! lol
Nobody's 'spotted' me yet...gutted!!
LOL.
Nah, there's loads of strangers I fancy. Loads.
I think it's more accurate to say passers by though, as other than when I'm at work, I don't tend to see the same people repeatedly.
There's quite a few in my building mind. One on the eleventh floor is particularly cute, but he can look very stern at times.
I once nearly fell over when one of the cute girls who I'd seen loads on fag breaks asked me for a light. I whipped out my Malboro lighter - a serious flame thrower, like a bunsen burner - and did the honours.
On seeing the flame, she said "ooh, that's a big one." I had to hide behind one of the pillars outside and call a mate, as I was crimson!! Though I have to add I was seeing someone and it was guilt more than anything that caused the reaction.
Oh and lads, don't deny this, but we all try and find a till with a fit girl when we're in supermarkets....:hihi:
hmmm....an idea forms....
hello to the really cute girl who walked passed me outside Varsity at the bus stop today :)
also to the beautiful blonde girl who walked past me at the lift today :o where have you been hiding ;) :)
