im having probs with the loading of some cd roms!--my eldest son who lives on humberside does me a complete re-install and everything works fine after that but he cant get up very often--also things are running real slow and everything keeps freezing!--i know it does really want a re-start but i just wondered if theres anything else that could help in the meantime!--i do run adware & spybot plus anti-virus software but its just getting worse!--i would be grateful for any help as im not very technical!
i have done defrags etc.but no real difference.

Start --> Run --> msconfig.

From there go to the startup tab, and keep only the things needed such as the Microsoft stuff.

This crap takes the PC to do more CPU cycles, thus taking an age to load.
