or as Ricky put it ... ' a pair of bookends'
Plans are afoot for an american version and they are picking the cast now... who would you have playing each part ?

Heh, those Yanks are easily amused. :D

mine is Kieth
starchild 26-01-2004, 17:23 The scene with Keith, Tim and Gareth where Keith advises Tim to get out of the way as he's going to move in on Rachel...and makes a series of moves...classic...that scene is enough to make any woman fall for Keith...blleeuuughhhh :D
Can't stand the Office. That guy played by Ricky Gervais? really gets on my nerves. Maybe that is the point but i can't watch it.

I am of the same opinion or do I just not get it?
steelblade 29-01-2004, 13:09 The Office is brilliant, absolute genius.
Gareth is sooo cringworthy he's hilarious.
I just can't see how changing the cast would work, but I guess they would suit an american audience and Ricky Gervais is directing some of it i think.
Great show:thumbsup:
I'd have Bill Murray as David Brent :D
mojoworking 29-01-2004, 23:47 American adaptations of British shows seldom work. The Yanks take a sledgehammer approach to most things they do. They did an unbelievably bad US version of Men Behaving Badly and I don't hold out much hope for the American adaptation of The Office.
Personally I rate The Office as the best UK TV comedy show since Alan Partridge.
I've noticed that it's usually women who don't enjoy shows with a high cringe factor like The Office, Alan Partridge etc. Whereas men generally seem to enjoy them more. Why is that, I wonder?
Mr BusDriver 30-01-2004, 00:07 Ive just heard that David Brent is applying for the DG job at the B.B.C:D
Yeah, saw that on Question Time.
...but the DG's job is already taken....

... in Tony Blairs dreams at least.
Nomme
Isnt that terrific
I am very impressed, how did he do it?
(Now is she talking about AC or the man who did the doctoring job? you are wondering.....)
Kilroy is 500-1 for the job. Could be worth a punt....

What a relief that must be for dear Tony, at least now he get on with the job of running the country without that damned BBC sniping at him. What a really brilliant day for democracy.;)
According to Digital Spy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds13271.html), David Brent is going to make an appearance in The Simpsons.
