well your best bet is to keep your eyes on the Monkeys Forums for people who can't make it. I assume that is you registered on the fanboard ridofme?

There appears to be a long q though

Anyone know what time gigs finish at the plug?

Or more specifically - when's this gig gonna finish?

Uncle_G
13-10-2005, 11:57
Yeeeearrs!!

one of the advantages of growin up with the monkeys is I don't have to pay to go see them!!

went to the Cavern on the 2nd, that was pretty crazy but hopefully when the arctic massive get together in the city of steel we can blow a fuse in the plug!

Hi, this gig is going to finish at 10.45, however Arctic Monkey ticket holders will be able to come through to our Neutral room ((formerly .Zero) afterward where there's another gig - Caribou - hosted by C90. This event will finish at 2am. :)

will that bar be open during the gig? During the Editors we were getting bottles from in there as the one in Live (?) was rammed?

What a great gig. I was really impressed by Milburn too. Thought the venue was nice. Somewhere different to the Leadmill/Octagon etc.

Uncle_G

Millburn are better than ya think arn't they!

I know louis and joe (bass + drums) and they are the nicest kids ever, especially joe.

Havn't seen them play recently but from watchin them back in the boardwalk days I'd say they are a good band with songs like, city of signs, lipstick lickin etc...

I've put Milburn on a few times, Grapes, Leadmill,The Earl, Heeley, NMB over the last few years.
I met them about 3 years ago when Steeltown was out. You could see then that they were going to make it and I'm surprised it's taken this long for them to get the recognition.

damn rite mate cracking lads aswell arn't they (most of em)

One of my friends who I went with said he preferred Milburn to Arctic Monkeys. Bit controversial!

Uncle_G
19-10-2005, 17:12
very controversial!

can see what he meant tho, on purly the music millburn are probli better but with Al's catchy lyrics and whit, arctic boys steal it everytime:partyhat:

I wasn't at the gig, but seen both bands a fair few times before.

I'd rate Milburn way above The Arctic Monkeys on the times I've seen them.

Basically I like Milburn, I think The Arctic Monkeys are just a bit dull.

But most of all, I prefer Plouf!

Plouf, thats a name I'm not heard for a while

Does anyone know what time the gig finishes and if there is a club night after?!?

I think something went on after the last monkeys gig, not sure about tomorrow night though.

Hope everyone who is off to the second gig tomorrow has a nice time! I'll be humming in my head.

I think your gig ticket entitles you to whatever is on at the plug. Think it's resident dj's, or dance stuff. I have no idea really, just know it's not indie. The gig finished at about 10:30-45ish last weekend. Can't quite remember due to too much alcohol.

Enjoy it!!

It's Hustle in one room and Soul Heaven in the other - both house nights.

It was mental at the plug on Saturday, I now see what people where saying about the barrier people pusing through.. very annoying!

I was on the guestlist and was given a Gold wrist band, I wasn't quite sure what that was about but it was your ticket to the aftershow party at the upstairs Bar.. loads of people there, even Richie Humphrys was in the house! Radio 1 aswell.

we left for a curry about 1am but I think the bar stayed open all night/morning for us to celebrate the singles success, glad I went on the 22nd instead of the 15th...
