Hi there. I was wondering where would be the cheapest place in the city centre or nearby that I could buy plastic buckets? I need them for clothes that have to be hand washed. Thanks

When anybody first moves to a new place, they obviously aren't going to know the best place to buy stuff. One solution, I suppose, is to go wandering around local shops or the city centre, trying to find somewhere. A more sensible solution is to ask on a local forum, in the hopes that people will be friendly enough to offer good advice. dongle 24-09-2010, 18:35 Don't be mean! The OP, haven't you got room for a washing machine? I'm sure you could pick one up for a tenner. She's probably got a washing machine for washing clothes that can be machine washed, hand washing needs to be washed in, uh, a bucket or something that means that you can wash it by hand.... My suggestion would be, wash your hand washing in the hand basin in the bathroom. Then again, if you'd done that, you'd have deprived over 1000 people of viewing this thread! :) shanes teeth 26-09-2010, 09:59 'where can I buy a tiger or an egyptian mummy.?' Or a converted 2 bed terrace, that's now a 4 bed HMO with up to 8 people living in it. The communal washing machine might be expensive, and a shared sink might not be the best place to wash clothes with its high usage. Or she could be taking the pis*. irenewilde 26-09-2010, 12:21 The CHEAPEST place for bucketS for clothes that have to be handwashed. The OP, haven't you got room for a washing machine? I think the clue was in the word "handwashed" - as in delicate stuff, some sweaters & sometimes things that have stuff printed on them. Having said that, I did think this thread was possibly one of the most feeble uses of the internet I've ever seen. cainedkaty 26-09-2010, 12:31 She might be a savvy student, in one of these new builds, which have no room for a washing machine and contravenes the (unfortunately) outdated space standards of the early 20th century.
