Which is the harder of the two,,in a fight who would win Zippy or George ?

Sam Miguel

I reckon George would cry at the very thought. Zippy gets my vote.

George would win, he's got that quiet serial killer thing going.

But if i was a stand up fight, rather than Zippy coming home and being knocked out, waking up tied to a chair while George slowly tortures him before getting rid of the body in a bath full of phosphoric acid i'm not so sure. If they were in a ring i reckon zippy would win, he's got the reach advantage.

Then again, if George had a knife...

My vote goes for George,I agree he has that silent,im going to disembowel you in you sleep thing about him.

He has his weight to his advantage, and his speech indicates that he may already had some time in the ring.

It'd all depend on whether zippy's zip was zipped.

Zippies zip was unzipped

Andy

George was a hippo
Bungle was a bear
Zippy was a strange alien type thing from another planet :loopy:

When they went to the seaside, why did Bungle have to go behind a rock to put his swimming trunks on?

Hmmm so true,as he spent all the time in the studio butt naked

Zippy was evil, but looking back now with that zip for a mouth prehaps he should have been made out of some
black rubber.

What happened to the Rainbow people? I remember Rod, Jane and Freddy had their own spin-off show, but it wasn't very good.

Then Rainbow moved to a toyshop, but without Geoffry. I heard Geoffry now works for Safeways, his showbiz career being a distant memory.

I reckon that Zippy was definitely harder (but that doesn't make him necessarily better....I love them both equally).

I heard that Geoffry (if that's how you spell it) is now working as a taxi driver, I think it was on a T.V programme.

Sam Miguel

I reckon Ramsbottom the snake out of the old Sooty Show would have taken them all on at once and come out the winner.

Easily!

Did anyone see Bungle on the repeated episode of Two Pints of Lager on UK Gold 2 the other night?

Jonny "hired" him from winnings off a scratch card...

ROFL! I could think of much better things to "hire" if I won a load of money, I would "hire" Holly Valance off Neighbours as my personal sex slave ;)

Well, I can dream can't I? ;)

Bungle would win any Rainbow fight...he's got form:

Rainbow's Bungle actor accused of road rage attack

The actor who played the cuddly bear Bungle in the children's television show Rainbow has been bound over to keep the peace after an alleged road rage incident.

Former actor Stanley Bates, 59, of The Street, Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds, appeared at Bury St Edmonds Magistrates Court facing two charges of assaulting motorist Catherine Marconi.

But the charges were dismissed after Bates agreed to be bound over to keep the peace for a year in the sum of £100.

Mrs Marconi was grabbed and shaken by Bates, now a self-employed lighting manufacturer, who also swore at her, on May 8 last year the court heard. The incident started when Bates pulled out of a car park in Woolpit, in his Volvo, the court was told.

Mrs Marconi stopped to let him reverse out but when he stopped after reversing, she believed it was to let her past and manoeuvred around the front of his car.

Bates then shouted abuse at her and she reversed back to exchange words with him before driving off.

Paul Forshaw, prosecuting, said Bates followed her and forced her to stop. "He reached through the window, grabbed her arms with his hands and shook her several times.

"She tried to prise him off but he would not let go."

David Stewart, for Bates, said the actor was ashamed of his behaviour

Apparantly he was not in Bungle costume when this happened.

Thankfully, no.

Rainbow was crap by even early 1980s standards, so I watched it as little as possible.

Bleh, I still say Rainbow was pants... even by 1981 standards... not to mention controversial, with 2 blatantly obvious gay characters in it, namely Bungle and George.

Love Rainbow quality kids TV, they dont make it like they used to! The Fimbles and the scary as hell Boobahs pale into insignificance alongside such genius as Rainbow!
I even have the 30th Anniversary edition DVD, yes folks it is that old! alas it does not have the infamous twanger episode on it mores the pity :loopy:

Sheet, I didn't realize it was 30 years old!!
I heard the music but was having trouble with the words.

"up above the streets and houses, rainbows everywhere....... lah lah lah..." It bugs me that can't remember the words, but the tune is in my head constantly agghhhhh. Someone put me out of my misery please :(

Killian
22-02-2004, 18:54
your wish is my command

Up above the streets and houses,
rainbow climbing high,
Everyone can see it smiling over
the sky.
Paint the whole world with a
rainbow.

All along the streams and rivers,
shining in the lakes,
See the colours of the rainbow as
the morning breaks.
Paint the whole world with a
rainbow.

Red, the colour of a sunrise,
White clouds floating in a sky of
blue,
Green for the rivers,
Gold for the cornfields,
The day is shining new.

Red, the colour of a sunset,
Grey shadows creep across the
hills,
The sun is sinking, colours are
fading,
The fields are dark and still.

Take some green from a forest,
blue from the sea,
Find the misty pot of gold,
And mix them for a week.
Paint the whole world with a
rainbow.

Red, the colour of a sunrise,
White clouds floating in a sky of
blue,
Green for the rivers,
Gold for the cornfields,
The day is shining new.

Super stuff. Boom Boom!

Talking of Rainbow, here's a link to a Rainbow clip. Seem genuine, anyone know the story behind it ? Was it a not-for-release VT studio take ?

Hmmmmf.

George, gay? How very dare you!

Just because a chubby hippo likes the odd cup of tea and slice of cake... Happens to be pink, sleeps in the same bed a Zippy.

How very dare you!

I was convinced George was actually a girl when I was little. S/he was pink and pink = girl!!

Loved Rainbow, couldn't stand Rod, Jane and Freddie. Who was the guy who Freddie replaced?

Rich

Wasn't there a rude version of the Rainbow theme song at some point?

I can't remember exactly what I'm referring to and knowing me I may even be talking out of my arse, but can anyone enlighten? :hihi:

George would win the fight on two things

Zip zippy's mouth then no one hear him scream so george can beat him up

Zip zippys mouth then he can not breath. so my vote for george to win.
