Hola again Gerry. For what it's worth, I was in the Signals in Fayid, (Group No 51-13). It seems like we're the forgotten few.

I was with 3 Div. Sigs from Colchester in 1956 when we invaded Egypt and the York & Lancs were there then.I was in the Y&L for a brief period just after being called up for National service in 1947 at Pontifract. I was then sent to Gibraltar and transferred to the Royal Northumberland Fusaliers.

A relation of mine was out there sometime in the 50's, Edwin 'Tim' Young of Danville Street. I remember him speaking of Waddi Alfa. Not sure what reg he was in, sadly now deceased.

Hi Gerry - I know this is an old 'Post' on an old 'Thread', I was just browsing and was thinking did you or anybody come across Bob Moughton, I seem to think he was in the York & Lancs around this time period. - My own demob number was 51/23 with the R.Sigs in Egypt and I know he went in when I came out.
