So i have to confess we have done really poorly this year on the camping front

We have only managed one measly weekend at Carsington water which was nice, but not the same as getting the big tent out and having a good week away somewhere far from home :D

We usually go 5 or 6 times during the better weather  and love to go new places.

So inspire everyone what have you done? Have you finished for the season or are you hardcore? (We really aren't)

Hi Adz,

We've not done much this year either, due to having to buy a new tent and being without for the first half of the season.

However, we have still managed to do:- Bridlington, Scarborough, Edinburgh, Buxton, and are going to Mablethorpe next week.

Will hopefully get a few more in before christmas (in 14 weeks time), but probably one more with the tent and then it will be with the folding camper, lol, more adapted to the winter weather.

We had 8 days at Glenridding in the Lakes in May. It snowed one night and the water in dogs bowls froze the next 2 nights. Daytime weather was great for walking but it was a good job there was a nearby pub to go to so we could get wr in the evenings.

4 very wet and windy days at Beddgelert in Wales in July and 4 lovely days at Braithwaite in the Lakes last week.

Might try and get a few weekends in yet before weather turns.

Just back from 7 days, just outside Fort William, lovely little holiday park, with a good sized camping field, stunning views overlooking Ben Nevis. Had numerous overnight and weekend trips into the peak district... probably got 2 or 3 more trips to come through september and october before the season is over. Contemplating another weekend trip up to Loch Lomond.

As above, just back from a week in Fort William. Best camping trip, yet. Might squeeze another trip in before the weather becomes rubbish.

Not done nearly enough this year.
Had a few cold weather trips to a camping barn including (I know it was last year) spending a white Christmas there with friends. Three trips to barn farm at Birchover and a couple to Haddon Grove. I'm off to North Yorkshire with Grim Reaper for a girls weekend at a Brewery a week on Friday, but that'll be it til next year.
Moving House and sorting all that out has taken too much time and cash, next year will be very different :)

Not done as much this year as we'd planned-we got a new tent for Christmas and were all raring to go, but this year has been manic, and we've been away loads on non-tenty trips so haven't had time for much camping. We've managed a couple of nights in Norfolk so we could rent a boat for a day on the Broads, and five nights exploring Scotland, staying about ten miles from Oban.

Done weekends at Hope and Bamford, also a folk weekend at Homfirth, 4 days at Red Wharf Bay in Anglesey (unbelievable), and the big one, 15 days in Usa in the Great Lakes. 1 night in a motel, then 7 in Northern Michigan, and 7 on an island called Put-in-Bay on Lake Erie in Ohio. Best experience? A mini-typhoon which blew tents away, but not our little 2 man bell tent.

Just back from mablethorpe, and we had a really nice week. Sitting on the beach and received a text from sister who said sheffield had rain. Our weather was fine all week apart from one day (yes, pack up day) when it decided we'd had enough good weather and threw a gale force storm at us.

Tent stayed up and dry, and was still easy to put away despite the weather. Had to dry it out on the garden the next day.

If anyone is still going camping this season, I have some vouchers left - the ones from The Sun and the Daily Mirror - that give you camping at £1/95p per night for a basic pitch. (We used these, and then paid extra for larger pitch and electric, and got our week for a total of £14 including entertainment passes).

If they are of any use to anyone, you are welcome to them, just pm me stating how many nights you would like.

No problem Jules. Forgot to mention, they are valid until the end of November this year, so plenty of time to use them. ;)
