Dubcentral returns from our summer holidays refreshed, revived and rejuvenated for Sheffields number 1 dub roots reggae session: Dub In A Pub inna finestyle powered by Fatta Universal HiFi.
We hope you missed us as much as we missed you, so to get us all back into the swing-a-ling ting we thought we'd best give you an extra special Dub In A Pub! When we tried to think of an guest vocalist to really kick it off there was only one ...choice: YT!
Yes indeedy, the UK's hottest dancehall MC has been around a long time but the past few years have blown up around this incredibly talented sing-jay, from appearing at reggaes biggest most important event Sting in Jamaica to touring the world and 2 wicked albums on his label Sativa Records: STRAIGHT OUTTA BRITAIN and his latest BORN INNA BABYLON. :)
Releases from a wide range of styles and producers from the steppers side with Iration Steppas 'What's Wrong', Vibronics 'I Wish' and of course Zion Train's latest album 'Babyfather', 'Life That I Choose'. Big dancehall hits like 'England Story' his UK soundsystem history lesson based on Babycham 's 'Ghetto Story' which still get's rinsed by David Rodigan in his dubplate version: 'Rodigan Story'.
'Wicked Act' about the 7/7 bombings cemented his reputation as a man with not just the flow and technique but the meaningful lyricism to stand out from the crowd. More recently he's been collaborating with producer-of-the moment Curtis Lynch on his Neccessary Mayhem imprint with top versions on Lynchs' new cuts of classic riddims Joker Smoker and Police In Helicopter, as well as releasing the dubsteb vibe with cuts on Mungos HiFi dubstep label Scotch Bonnet and as well as cuts by producers like Benny Page, RSD and Sheffield's own Rogue State.:hihi:
