Does anybody know of a weekend course called Introduction to childminding practice? I am tired of searching!

Have you tried Sheffield College?

Ys I have , looks like they have something that runs over 4 weekend, I was hoping for one weekend.

hi, i did a course "introduction to childminding"one evening at eckington i think it was run by derbyshire county council,try there web site,not sure about weekends though,worth a look,

I think you'll be searching in vain I'm afraid, manufamily. The ICP is a 16 hour course which is why it spans either over four Saturdays, or eight weekday evenings. Castle College is the only place of study within Sheffield offering the ICP I believe. And I doubt anywhere offers an eight hour day of study on a Sunday!!

go to the childrens info centre on leopold street and ask them for the info about becoming a registered childminder. The folder they give you has a contact number for the main childminder co-ordinators who will tell you when the next intro evening is. You go along to this, its free, and they tell you about the full process of becoming registered, and give you the application forms and info on the childminding course. they do run it over weekends, but its like the other poster said, and run over quite a few weekends.
you also need to do a firstaid course....i dont know if this is included in the childminding course now (it wasnt last year).
