In town last night for the first time in a while, and thought that the City Hall looks fantastic.

But is that black tarmac tipped all over Barkers Pool temporary? Maybe they need to 'finish it' somehow, I don't know how these things work. But at the moment, it looks worse than when some 'workmen' knocking door to door tarmacced my mum's drive on the cheap!

I noticed it too yesterday. I have a feeling that it's going down so that the Councillors and local worthies can have their opening shindig at our expense and then then rip it all up in couple of weeks to lay the proper surface... at our expense.

I've had the chance to have a sneak preview of the entire place and it is very nice and I think people will be pleased with the finished look. I'm sure at the time they said that barkers Pool was supposed to be completed by the opening date and as I thought it looked like a much longer job I'll have to pop down and take another look next week just out of curiousity.
