Anybody watched the two-part series Elizabeth I?

Didn't think I'd enjoy it, but it was magnificent. Helen Mirren deserves an OSCAR for her role of the Queen.

It was obviously not made in Hollywood as it mirrored the atmosphere as described of Elizabethan London. No 'compulsory' American actors, no enhancing make-up on the women, just pure history in the raw.

One little point to raise though....when the make-up artists go to such lengths to make the characters look like the scruffy Elizabethans, why do they leave their teeth so lily-white?

Once I'd noticed this I couldn't get it out of my mind.

Barring the teeth issue, this is one of the best, and most informative historical dramas I have ever seen.

If the content was anything close to historical fact, then Lizzie has just moved up my 'heros' list and is very near the top.

What a woman!!:o

Aaaaaww gutted! I chose not to watch it as I have read many books on the subject and reached my only comclusions I suppse, regarding her relationship with Leicester.

And I was so woefully disappointed in Elizabeth the film that I thought I shouldn't bother.

And it was good?

 Typical, just typical.

She's definitely on my hero list.

It was a dramatical feast........and I don't usually like these long historical dramas because they are often badly-cast pantomimes.
