Anyone seen owt about Shane Meadows' new film? I've read a bit and it sounds very good indeed - after watching a teaser trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crjy8fChRyc) I'm completely sold. If you're one of 'Thatcher's Children' you might be too. If you dunno who Shane is, he did Dead Man's Shoes a couple of years back and A Room for Romeo Brass before that. The trailer might look a bit happy, but I've read that this is typically dark AND funny.

Still not got a confirmed UK release date - I'm guessing this is because of 'current political climate' etc... I hope it ain't butchered by the censors just because skinheads are politically incorrect.

Dead mans shoes was brilliant, in fact one of my faves. Considine was excellent in that film :thumbsup:

It was officially released on 31/10/06. I dont think it had a distribution deal though because it was only shown at the London Film Festival !

No the imdb entry just mentions a screening at the London Film Festival. It premièred at the Toronto Film Film Festival while back hasn't been approved for general release yet. Hence the thread. Shane's defo got a distribution deal because he's f***ing hot property right now. Have a look on www.shanemeadows.co.uk for info on how it hasn't been officially released.

No, it's what's known as a teaser - hence the lack of any real info. There's stuff out there if you dig a bit deeper - start with www.shanemeadows.co.uk - and youtube has got one other T.I.E. vid... which shows you the main dark side character.

Two of my friends went to a screening of this film as they are involved with WARp. They said the film was very good.... Can't wait to see it.

The short clips I've seen do look very good - I'm even more excited by the news that the DVD release will feature the short film Smalltime as a bonus. I urge everyone who likes Shane Meadows' stuff to actually buy the DVDs, and not to buy, download or even watch copied versions... we've gotta support local talent like this.
