We are in the process of looking to move house, I've noticed a few in High Green (one on Pembroke Crescent and a few on Charlton Drive).

Does anyone know what the area is like? and anywhere to avoid nearby?

Dont listen to that!

Its not that bad at all, i have lived there most of my life and trust me there are far worse places to live! I have never been enticed to take drugs!

The streets you have mentioned do not have a bad reputation, the worst place to live is by the flats.

All areas have good and bad points. Normally the bad points come from those who probably dont even live there.!!

Pembroke Cres and charlton Drive are fine.
They are private houses built in the early 1970's.

At the bottom of Pembroke though is "Charlton Brook" dam, and in the past, this is where youths gather. But not enough to worry about.

Nearest pub from Pembroke is the "Bridge inn" within a 5 minute walk.

Nearest pub to charlton drive could be the "Barrel" depending on which end of the drive you are at.

Where ever you decide, you are only a 15 minute walk from Chapeltown, with the "Asda" bus and rail links.

Cheers Melissa/Viking,

We actually went to view the one at Pembroke last night. We had a drive around the area, and at that time (7pm), it seemed really quiet.

It's on the maybe list!

thanks again
