Does anyone here read 'The Week'. I call it a newspaper, but really it's a 'best of' all the other newspapers. It costs £1.85 (off the shelf) and comes out every Friday. The banner at the top of the front page says "All you need to know about everything that matters".
For someone who doesn't have time to read a newspaper or spend too long on the BBC News web site, I actually really enjoy this paper/magazine. The format is the same each week, and includes such gems as "It must be true - I read it in the tabloids" (a round up of the best tabloid stories) and also a "Good Week, Bad Week" section.
Anyway, just wondering who else has seen/reads it and to tip you off if you are looking for a good read.

I've never seen that. Can you buy it in most places?
I think you can get it from WH Smiths on Fargate, it's normally with Time, Newsweek and other similar publications. However, the majority of people get it via subscription - I was recommended it by someone I know.

I reckon I'll give that one a try.
Lol, I should have sorted out some commission thing... :P
They don't seem to have a web site, but on my subscription receipt there is an email: theweek@cisubs.co.uk so you can use that if you like. Anyway, this wasn't really meant to be an ad - I was really wondering if anyone else had read and enjoyed it?
Sounds very like one of those pull out sections that you get in the Guardian. 'The Editor' or something? Can't remember exactly what it's called but it is similar to what you describe. A round up of the weeks news from all the different papers. I think it's in either the Friday or the Saturday edition.

Possibly, although I'm pretty sure The Week is more comprehensive than any of the pull-out sections I've seen. For example in the Main Stories section it breaks each story down in to 4 sections: What happened, What the editorials said, What the commentators said and What next. I find techniques such as this a refreshing way to beef up my knowledge of the news.
That's not to say The Week is unique. However, wouldn't the views of the 'Editor' section be similar to those of the Guardian itself? I prefer my news a little more impartial :P Reading a publication which isn't tied to any particular paper therefore suits me nicely.

From what I remember of it no it isn't. I think a different editor does it each week and angles from different papers are printed. Any guardian readers out there care to to confirm or refute my ramblings?
