After spraying I can never smell anything after one minute.Ive stopped buying them now, and just go round all the "Testers" spraying myself. When I get home my husband says Oh thats nice what is it ? If I buy it I can never smell anything.I wonder if the "Testers" are a condensed form of the perfume ? Cos they never smell like that if I buy them. Someone told me "Ghost" was a good one, anyone used it ? medusa 05-10-2005, 21:02 Originally posted by pattricia Can someone tell me a womens perfume, that I can actually smell on myself afterwards ? Someone told me "Ghost" was a good one, anyone used it ? The phenomenon is called anosmia, and it applies to all smells, believe it or not. If you are exposed to the same smell for a period of time (the exact time varies from person to person) then you stop perceiving the smell. It's not that the smell isn't there any more, but your brain sort of fades it into the background as it has more pressing things to do. I'm told that this is how people who work with smelly things (sewage, rubbish, whatever) cope- after a short time they just don't perceive the smell any more. Downside- you can't smell yummy perfume Upside- other people can medusa 05-10-2005, 21:05 Originally posted by limpetboy Angel (the womens version obviously lol) mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wear Angel and somebody tells me more or less every day that it smells lovely. What is the "Brand Name" of Angel ? e.g. Revlon etc; and what kind of a smell is it ? medusa 05-10-2005, 22:22 Originally posted by pattricia What is the "Brand Name" of Angel ? e.g. Revlon etc; and what kind of a smell is it ? It's made by Thierry Mugler, and it quotes itself as containing chocolate, vanilla and patchouli. It's really difficult to describe, and takes about half an hour after you've sprayed it on to smell really fab. It also lasts all day (in fact I've had people ask me about my perfume the next day after a shower). AFAIK all the perfume counters stock it, but please don't all rush out and buy it or I won't be able to think that it's a good 'individual' choice. Ant 05-10-2005, 22:31 Anything violety gets me going. I think I must have fancied a young girlie when I was in the infants who chomped on Parma Violets each break. It's now become a fetish. venger 06-10-2005, 01:28 Dolce Vita I think it's by Dior. :heyhey: beautynbeast 06-10-2005, 06:03 yes angel for me too. iv been wearing this for the last 8 years and been a big fan of his fashion wear as well. well worth alook at his creations. also most scents by jo malone, amber&lavender nutmeg &ginger, orange blossom and honeysuckle & jasmine  Pipine 06-10-2005, 07:33 Gucci Envy for men... its indescribably sexy on a man! Macca 06-10-2005, 07:44 I wear Issey Miyake (sp!) - the ladies certainly seem to like that!! :D Phanerothyme 06-10-2005, 08:32 The perfume of sun warmed skin. Actually, one of the smells I like the most is the one you get when you've been swimming in the sea. Kramer bottled and sold this through Calvin Klein in Seinfeld. :D hotdogbird 06-10-2005, 08:50 D&G in the blue velvet box for men is my fave. followed by Issay Miyake. Both of these on men are yummy. On me I like Angel or Jean Paul Gaultier original pure perfume. Bloody expensive but well worth it. All I need now is a fella to buy me some for my birthday.:D GazB 06-10-2005, 09:22 I've got over 20 bottles of aftershave, but the main one I love, that sends women weak at the knees is Clinique Happy For Men.
