Pauline BHG 05-10-2005, 20:03 Im going :D And im not mad so he cant be referring to moi.........
*digs in bottom of wardrobe for silk scarves and thigh-high boots*
*muffled sounds cannot be distinguished as either denial or confirmation at this stage*
:hihi:
Silverjet 06-10-2005, 13:39 C'mon Strix...ya know it'll be fun!!! Bring out the Scarves! :-)
Well I'm not going on my own :(
Classic Rock 07-10-2005, 12:42 Wish I could but am DJing.
To be honest though I wasn't impressed with Tyla last time they came to the Corp, he was full of bad attitude, slagging off the Corp and the sound bloke. In fact he stormed off the stage at one point and created a really bad atmosphere. There's rock and roll and there's being a total tosser....which he was.
Silverjet are excellent, if you feel you MUST go to see the Dogs, do not miss Silverjet, they'll make up for any poor performance of Tyla's.
Pauline BHG 07-10-2005, 13:05 I MUST go see them, as ive not seen them for about/over 10 years. Loved them at the time. Maybe Tyla was having a bad night..... we shall see :)
Silverjet 07-10-2005, 15:55 Strix come with us, it'll be fun!
Sarah - (Dave Silverjet's girlfriend)
im still undecided....maybe 3 weeks after the gig i will decide to go :hihi:

Silverjet 08-10-2005, 08:30 !!!Ooooooo!! Did that sound a bit dodgy?
Sarah
Pauline BHG 14-10-2005, 23:09 Bumpity Bump as its tomorrow !! Im really excited, not seen Dogs since hmm, late 80s/early 90s ???? :D
Silverjet - if you see this before the gig, any idea of door and stage times ? I def want to catch you guys too :)
RAWK on !!!!!!!!
Hmmmm, who can I get to mind the dog? :suspect:
Silverjet 15-10-2005, 13:32 Allo!!!
Goon to see some of you are gonna make it tonight. Doors are 7PM not 100% sure on stage times...If ya get there before 8PM you should be safe. The Dogs are lookin good, we played with them on Thur in Donny.
If anyone wants tickets(£12) PM me before 6PM, someboby will be in the Dev Cat before the doors...better than payin £14 on the door.
See ya's later

Pauline BHG 15-10-2005, 15:09 Thanks :) I'll prob get there just after 7:30. looking forward to it :D
Unexpected visit from sis meant a quiet night in with lots of Akash curry
Pauline BHG 16-10-2005, 01:15 It was a good gig :D Silverjet are very good. Not really my *thing*, but very good and seem to have a pretty big fanbase by the looks of the crowd :)
Dogs D'Amour were also very good !! Tyla looks more human these days, not so skeletal ! I think hes the only original ?? Or are the others just not recognisable any more ? heheheh Well, i know the drummer DEF wasnt BamBam for sure ! :O I only knew 5 songs as i only have the first 2 albums, but i really enjoyed the gig.
Friends are now trying to get me to go to the LA Guns gig in Notts tomorrow but im trying to resist.
Nice to meet you Dave Silverjet. See ya at The Quireboys indeed ;)
Pauline BHG 16-10-2005, 11:50 Friday 18th November at Corp :)
Silverjet 16-10-2005, 14:17 Tyla is the only original member left in The Dogs at the mo but the line up changes from time to time so ya never know. They did the Monsters of Rock thing with Alice Cooper a couple of years ago with pretty much the original line up minus the original bass player and that was great.
The Quireboys on the 18th!! We had it confirmed last night that we will be the support along with S.W.O.N another great Sheffield band so hope ya can all come out for that one.

Pauline BHG 16-10-2005, 14:26 Ahhhhhh..... I knew SWON had the support, but didn't want to say anything to you last night !! Cool - 2 supports, better than listening to the horrendous before/between bands music that they play :/
Do you know if its gonna be in the big room ?
Silverjet 16-10-2005, 16:25 It will be a good night... it will be in the big room as long as enough advance tickets are sold.
Might have to weedle a trip to the Quireboys for a birthday do
i think i'll have to pop along to that gig...3 bands i wouldnt mind seeing so i can justify the payout :)
I went along to this gig with a friend who used to be really into the Dogs D'Amour -and it t'was my first *rock* gig for years - I had good night - though was a bit like stepping through a timewarp!
Must admit I was impressed with Silverjet - who must have been a good 10 years younger than the rest of the crowd, and I dare say the owners of maybe a few Black Crowes albums - but top performance.
The Dogs were good - but the sound was a bit ropey - sounded like their amps were too loud and so you couldnt really hear the vocals through the PA (often a problem with rock band + small venue) - but I'd forgetten how many of their tunes I knew and Tyla looks a lot healthier than 18 years ago! I was trying to work out if any of the band were original - I thought not - but top marks to the Joe Strummer type guitarist. They shot off pretty quick though... I cannot really see a major comeback - but a good way to spend a sat night..
Now the Quireboys.. bl**dy h*ll there's a name from the past - is there no band that has not got back together? Might go and take a look though - they were always just a great pub band afterall.
Silverjet 18-10-2005, 22:34 Glad ya had a good night...ya right as well, we do own a few Crowes albums(all of them for me)...they are great!!
The QB's have been back together since about 99ish..It's still Spike, Griff and Mogg out of the originals and the none originals are bloody great too!!!
Cheers
Dave

That's what the 'edit' button is for at the bottom of your post ;)
Silverjet 19-10-2005, 18:02 oh yeah, nice one.
I'm not sure how it happened but in my record collection from my youth I have an album by the Dogs D'Amour which is kinda pink looking I think
Im pretty sure the opening track is called Debauchery
I have things I dont know how I have. This is one of them.
My poor Mam, she is holding onto them all.
Am I right in thinking HUGE hair and hairbands?

Not so much huge hair - Dogs D'Amour more went for the Keith Richards look...
You really want to know the answer to that? (http://www.thatssometal.com/essential/in_the_dynamite_jet_saloon.jpg)
