View Full Version : Man collapsed this morning at Hillsborough Corner
Donna_Row 05-10-2005, 11:06 Does anyone know what happened to the man who collapsed outside Huttons in Hillsborough this morning? A few paramedics were trying to resuscitate him but they didn't look like they were having too much luck.
Poor guy, some woman on our bus was complaining that she'd be late for work and I couldn't help but think that she was lucky, that bloke probably wouldn't make it to work again.
My thoughts are with his family.

Indeed. Id have slapped that woman, and told her to get some respect. Its sad when all people can think about is getting to work on time, no matter what the cost.
I pray he has made it through.

God, what an insensitive cow! People are amazing sometimes. Hope he made it too. xxx
Henrietta 05-10-2005, 11:52 Oh dear... I saw this as I walked back from the school - paramedics hadn't arrived yet - Bless him.
matt1889 05-10-2005, 12:56 Gutted!!!!!

My moto is: tiny steps one at a time - you can only deal with one thing at a time!
kbmoore41 05-10-2005, 13:07 Fingers crossed he will be ok. Sorry if I offended any user's earlier, I just wanted to get my message across that it is easier to tackle one little task in bits, rather one big one in all go.
matt1889 05-10-2005, 13:09 ???????My moto is: tiny steps one at a time - you can only deal with one thing at a time!?????????????
Whats that meant to mean then?????

I could tell you to bog off, but as I am not that unkind, I will explain.
It is often easier to deal with things separately instead of mixing it all up.
One step is a different job. It might be above your understanding though.

It's above my understanding to, what on earth does it mean.

I I I
Can i just say everyone i dont know about this loser above me
but i sincerely apologise for disrupting a sensitive issue!!!
Obviously some of us are upset by these issues!
Just want to add, if you want to argue dont do do it on a thread like this! How insensitive!
Haven't heard about it - hope the poor guy's ok!
(Would be interested to know how that quote was relevant though - not being argumentative - just curious!)
matt1889 05-10-2005, 13:22 would that be kbmoore41's quote Lotti????

I don't understand it in relation to this thread either, even with your explanation, so I don't think people were being unpleasant when they said they didn't.
And prayers for the poor guy on the ground too...
matt1889 05-10-2005, 13:25 Very irrelevant quote indeed!!!!!
Anyway if anybody finds out if the mans ok, please let me know!

Rather a stupid thing to say:mad: Why do people insist on posting insensitive tripe and then trying to cover their tracks.
I sincerely hope the man in question is ok. Anyone with any news please post.
kbmoore41 05-10-2005, 13:38 Please calm down. I take any offence back. I just meant to say that sometimes it is easier to take things one step at a time.
I too could drop down like this unfortunate person, as I have a funny heartbeat.
I re-iterate, no offence meant and I don't think I deserved the posting you made about my comments. Sorry.
I thought you were referring to the fact the paramedics hadn't arrived!
This guy might not have had any health problems though kbmoore41. So it does seem a little silly. I don't think anyone was posting to be rude to you, or were particularly annoyed with you (except Lestat who understood it!) the rest of us were just confused! Thanks for clearing the confusion up though...
Back to the topic started - I really hope the chap is ok!

~ Take not little steps. Take great leaps from which you cannot return. ~
I was replying to this Matt. Some people deal with issues in little bits rather that all at once, great leaps imply that you deal with it all in one go. To me that is not the best.
Now I'm confused again
What was he supposed to deal with one step at a time? Sorry, maybe I'm just very blonde - just not sure what you mean!
climaxchick 05-10-2005, 14:36 Shame on the women who complained about being late for work.
I would have said something to her and made her think twice about what she had just said.

In general ie life, you should deal with one thing at a time (I am not talking about the poor man in Hillsborough) - my first referral was to a poster's signature and I think that is how all the confusion started. Dealing with one thing at a time saves you stressing about too much at once!!

I kind of understand now.
The question of why you posted something in response to someones signature without being clear and with no reference to topic being discussed is now the one raised.
yeah, i bet that poor guy wished his only problem this morning was been late for work.
hope he is ok.
that quote has really confused me to.

that quote has really confused me to. It is simple really!
now i understand. that quote was relating to someones signature. just seemed abit strange considering the subject that was actually been discussed.

I understand your quote....in relation to the sig that Henrietta has.... but 'really' reactions to sigs on a thread as sensitive as this !!
Surely you ought to have released your sense of fun via PM direct with Henrietta (not sure whether she would want the PM) but the relevance wasn't welcome on this thread either IMO!
I hope this guy was ok once in the capable hands of the paramedics!
:)

It was not supposed to be humerous, simply a version of how to deal with complications in life. Again my apologies. What do you mean as 'via PM' and what does IMO stand for? Sorry - I am new to posting on here. Obviously my ignorance shows.

Obviously, you didn't show the correct level of caring and compassion.

No worries kbmoore41 you've obviously shown remorse for your inappropriate references...
Via PM = (personal messaging)
IMO = 'In my opinion'

Thanks for your help so far. One more question. If I reply via 'quote' - does that automatically send it as a 'PM'? Sorry, I think you are moderater for the day.
deelightful3 05-10-2005, 20:24 my sister saw this happen to the poor chap this morning, and it really shook her up because it brought back memories of how her husband died in front of her with a massive heart attack, she didnt hold out much hope for the poor man,i hope she's wrong, but she doesnt think so.

Nope it doesnt! You need to use the "PM" button there.

my sister saw this happen to the poor chap this morning He didn't look a very good colour when I passed, and can only hope that his suffering was limited. Maybe if he did die, its best to go quickly.. one minute out and about on your morning business, the next, off to the next stop?
With reference to my signature: to me it is about stepping boldly forward in life, don't fart about and dwell or hang back due to fear of what's ahead. Just do it - leap and don't look back! Don't fear the unknown.

Maybe she had the same boss I used to have!
I got the train into work one day which was subsequently delayed by half an hour due to a suicide on the track. Far from being sympathetic, I was put on report and told to "watch my timekeeping in future"
It would have been funny if it wasnt so pathetic.
roughy101 06-10-2005, 14:11 anyhow does anyone have any news about the poor man who collapsed or not.
So will you all be going to the funeral if this guy dies ?
HottyMcBuff 06-10-2005, 16:15 This thread went waaaaaay off subject for a while there, didn't it?!
Anyway, as of yesterday afternoon, the gentleman in question was in ITU.
No further info because of lack of it on my part (and confidentiality issues) but thought that those of you worried about this guy would like to know the good news that he did not pass away but still likely to be quite seriously ill.
